At least it's way less annoying now compared to its original incarnation, where you needed different types of the same prism based on the item level of the glamour.

You can buy all the items for making prisms from NPCs too, then just hit quick synth and go read something until a stack is done.

you can also just get them for company seals, though there are often other things you'll want instead

Pretty much this, because the gear treadmill for crafters is far worse than for DoW/DoM.

So I may have forgotten to repair my gear before Expert roulette today, and my accessories may have all broken on the first pull in The Burn, dropping my HP by about 20k.

Still did big pulls and cleared without any problems, and the healer had a good laugh about it, plus I got commendations, so I feel pretty good about my tanking today.

I recently went to Tokyo and got a chance to grab some FFXIV merchandise while walking through Asagaya and Akihabara. I was disappointed by how little Final Fantasy merch there was in the shops (unless you love chibi keychains), but this chubby little dude caught my eye:



It's usually only as a prize from gambling machines, but someone had one in their store for a few bucks and I just couldn't ignore the gloriousness of this. Obviously it has floppy tail feathers:


The alarm tune is the Chocobo song, which I can't record and put on YT, because hey yo copyrights. Sadly not the FAT Chocobo song, which would have been funnier, but would be a shitty alarm.

I fucking love it, but so does my kid who loves messing with buttons, so I can't really use it as a reliable alarm. But BY GOD will I use it as an unreliable alarm!
