[Brewing] is like animal husbandry of finicky tiny invisible creatures

Yes, I know yeasts are technically fungi.

anyway people seemed interested in a brewing thread thanks to one I posted over the holiday so yeah.

People drank my cider. It was not poison. People also drank my strawberry wine.

I think I'm going to attempt sake again soon. It's very scary. I'm going to need a rice rinser.

How do you guys deal with temperature control? My parents extra fridge can't be set above 45 degrees; they have a wine cooler but the display is broken, though I think it's around 55 degrees. Do you have to buy a specialized mini-fridge or something?

For temperature control, I have my chest freezer plugged into one of these. Or well I had because the freezer just died and I need a new one, but that's not the controller's fault. I also have a tiny space heater in there during the winter so it doesn't get too cold, but that's probably not needed if your fridge is inside.
