The front door to my apartment is blocked, how will I get food delivered?
So, due to the OUTRAGEOUS cold/snowstorm, a water extinguisher broke in the front hall, totally KO'ing the front door. I would like to get restaurant food for supper tonight, and it is officially TOO DAMN COLD to actually walk anywhere.
Do I...

suck it up and eat leftovers?
Wait in a neighboring building?
Ask that they go to the back door?

Like, a flamethrower?
It's an extinguisher that extinguishes with water.
Ergo...
A water extinguisher.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

My team and I are preparing a press release to address the concerns raised by Ketbra and co.

Permit us to formulate our response in the spoilers below.
Well make fixing it our top priority!
It's not a snowstorm anymore, it's just cold! It was a snowstorm yesterday, and I refrained.
The door is not for eating! The door is for dooring! It needs to stay there!
Is this a typo for rich or dick?
Either way I agree
Make sure to offer them lotion.
yes
The door is blocking food tho! This just becomes a two birds with one stone if you eat the door!
Pluto was a planet and I'll never forget
IT HAS A FAMILY! In that the other tenants will be pissed if I eat the door.
(And also it keeps the cold out. The door is between me and the cold. The door is good, the door is life. If I put the door in my tummy, then I am between the cold and the door, therefore becoming the door for the door. But the door needs no door! The door is the door for the door! Because doors are doors, and I am me, I will not eat the door.)

Make sure there's gravy on that door.
Can't have a door with no gravy.
The acceptable minimum is $5 in the US, if it's $8 worth of food, or $20, you start at $5, last I heard
And then jump up to at least 20 percent
If I order in bad weather, I usually do more
Ya as a delivery driver in Canada, the amount of people that will call for delivery in dangerous weather, then mock you for driving in it, and then not tip is way too regular. Tip those peeps , they skirting death constantly to barely make poverty wage
But door blocking food!
What do?
Yeah, I'll be tipping 7.04 CAN$ on a 22.96 CAN$ order, is that sufficient, do you think?
No, they really don't
They're looking to maximize their profits
Thats not the right idea
I'd be happy with that.
Maybe get the drone to deliver the controller itself...
Let's see how this goes...
Have them climb into the bucket.
Pull them up.
Eat a meal with them.
Maybe make out a little.
The rest is up to you.
You underestimate
1) how small my apartment is
2) how high up it is
3) how cold it is outside
4) how little I can actually open my window right now
Earl Gray.
Hot.
Is it weird this was my first thought before even seeing the options list?
"How else could you do this"
I agree with this. I wouldn't want to make the driver for my local pizza or Chinese joint drive in really bad weather - they likely have no choice and have to be doing so on a scheduled work day otherwise a terrible boss will ding them or fire them.
But, I'm honestly not sure if the same should apply for anyone who's doing delivery for a gig economy service. Someone who is delivering for DoorDash or GrubHub or UberEats or something like that though? Who isn't doing it as an actual employee with a set schedule, so they're probably only out there in terrible weather because they really need the cash? They want you to order something, because they can't make any money otherwise.
I don't know. If I were to order something that would be delivered by a gig economy driver for one of those services on a bad night, I'd definitely up the tip significantly out of appreciation for being there in such bad weather. I'd generally prefer not to order at all in unsafe conditions, but I've been told by at least one person that they'd rather get orders and make some money than not be able to pay their bills because people thought they were looking out for them.
Delivery is for suckers
