I once had a job where I had to use a rake to move snakes out of a kid's inflatable pool into a more different pool so I could clean the first one. And then move them back.
Also I locked cougars into batting cages so I could shovel out their poop and hide meat in tires for them.
Immediately after my last post in the old thread the snow crossed the highway into Wichita proper.

Sometimes when robots try to do the local prefix thing to me, they somehow fuck it up so hard that it looks like the phone call is coming from Romania. And I'm not answering that, because I don't talk to Draculas no more.
Coworker has been out on medical leave. Now my other coworker is on "indefinite administrative leave" whatever that means. Times are gonna get tough for old Kaplar.

"Indefinite administrative leave" sounds like "while we write the termination letter".

Yeah, I think admin leave usually means that management has decided it's best that the employee not come in, as opposed to any kind of leave request originating with the employee.
Scored an in person interview next week with an aerospace company and I've got two phone interviews on Monday. One with a medical device manufacturer and the other is with a clean tech startup. The startup is kind of an exciting opportunity but they're super early on, like they only have 4 guys right now and 3 of them or co-founders. It will be my second talk with them after they found me on LinkedIn. It's nice to be in a field with solid demand in good economic times. I'm hoping to leverage all of my work bullshit into a $15k raise when I finally jump ship but we'll see.
Also the interview went well. Turns out it was a 4-person panel interview with 3 people that are alums of my program :rotate:

Hmmm. This Mario Amiibo looks good on top of this trophy but I have an old Vault-Tec bobble-head vault-boy that fits perfectly on top like it was made to go there.
The Mario would obviously be better since it is a Smash tournament.

That's what I was leaning toward especially since we just had someone come in today to change some locks/combinations :rotate:

Using your skillset to create a steady income stream outside of traditional career paths means you have to be a sales person first and foremost regardless of your skillset. It's why sales people run the world and also why the world is garbage.
Use your skill set to create a steady income stream outside of traditional paths while shifting your paradigm towards a higher growth potential and energize your quarter earnings with the block-chain.

That is... unsurprising.
In my experience with people being put on admin leave, the situation is usually one where a person is thought to have done something that might be enough to get them fired. The concern then is that, were the person allowed to keep working while the issue was being investigated, and then it turned out that they were indeed guilty of being naughty, the public response to their being allowed to continue working for however many months would be extremely negative.

I wish I could sales better for Radiations Shitty CNC side hustle.
But also not too much because I like playing with dumb projects I like as well. @bowen did get me a sale, which was nice!
I may eventually pick one up as well because printing is neat and it's helped me iterate on designs. I've been working on a pen box and 3d printed the box as designed and took it to the person who had some suggestions for design changes.
Edit:
I have access to a 3d printer at the makerspace near me.
Oh also the library has one as well which is great!

They're only calling for 2 inches here, and it's tomorrow late I think?
Also, I asked this in the previous thread: should I call a place the day/day after applying there? Or wait a bit?
A bowling alley seems like a pretty flat organizational structure, so it seems like a real moderate risk/high reward situation.
If they post their job somewhere it's going to get a lot of eyes, they might get a lot of applicants without much in the way of strict requirements, which are always hard to sort through. If you think you can make a strong case for why you'd love to work at a bowling alley generally and this bowling alley specifically, it can certainly make you stand out. It mostly depends on how confident you are in your pitch.
The main way I could see this breaking bad is if they're the kind of person who owns a bowling alley but is also sick of people jumping the corporate-style job application process. This is certainly possible, but does not seem likely in my opinion.

Also because that person likely knows they're going to be fired so keep them away from the money/supply closets.

Also I'm incredibly lazy and my skillset is largely considered in the "for exposure" vein.

Can you use your skillset to create a steady income stream?
Because that is key
Thank you!

Survivable? Maybe...but not in a way that would be less work than the work I am currently doing.

Yeah, I want one.
Toxic co-workers, little chance for advancement and contradictory performance feedback? Ugh.
Good luck!
They already called it.
