Also I locked cougars into batting cages so I could shovel out their poop and hide meat in tires for them.
It was a strange job.
Also good luck with all the interviews!
thanks I hate this
Also I'm incredibly lazy and my skillset is largely considered in the "for exposure" vein.
Yeah, I think admin leave usually means that management has decided it's best that the employee not come in, as opposed to any kind of leave request originating with the employee.
Can you use your skillset to create a steady income stream?
Because that is key
Thank you!
Scored an in person interview next week with an aerospace company and I've got two phone interviews on Monday. One with a medical device manufacturer and the other is with a clean tech startup. The startup is kind of an exciting opportunity but they're super early on, like they only have 4 guys right now and 3 of them or co-founders. It will be my second talk with them after they found me on LinkedIn. It's nice to be in a field with solid demand in good economic times. I'm hoping to leverage all of my work bullshit into a $15k raise when I finally jump ship but we'll see.
The Mario would obviously be better since it is a Smash tournament.
Survivable? Maybe...but not in a way that would be less work than the work I am currently doing.
That's what I was leaning toward especially since we just had someone come in today to change some locks/combinations :rotate:
That is... unsurprising.
In my experience with people being put on admin leave, the situation is usually one where a person is thought to have done something that might be enough to get them fired. The concern then is that, were the person allowed to keep working while the issue was being investigated, and then it turned out that they were indeed guilty of being naughty, the public response to their being allowed to continue working for however many months would be extremely negative.
I wish I could sales better for Radiations Shitty CNC side hustle.
But also not too much because I like playing with dumb projects I like as well.
@bowen did get me a sale, which was nice!
Edit:
I have access to a 3d printer at the makerspace near me.
Oh also the library has one as well which is great!
Yeah, I want one.
Toxic co-workers, little chance for advancement and contradictory performance feedback? Ugh.
Good luck!
They already called it.
SNOW DAY.
Also, I asked this in the previous thread: should I call a place the day/day after applying there? Or wait a bit?
One issue. 'Twas I who embezzled the dollar!
A bowling alley seems like a pretty flat organizational structure, so it seems like a real moderate risk/high reward situation.
If they post their job somewhere it's going to get a lot of eyes, they might get a lot of applicants without much in the way of strict requirements, which are always hard to sort through. If you think you can make a strong case for why you'd love to work at a bowling alley generally and this bowling alley specifically, it can certainly make you stand out. It mostly depends on how confident you are in your pitch.
The main way I could see this breaking bad is if they're the kind of person who owns a bowling alley but is also sick of people jumping the corporate-style job application process. This is certainly possible, but does not seem likely in my opinion.
Also because that person likely knows they're going to be fired so keep them away from the money/supply closets.
