1) they do make honey out of nectar, not meat, as most bees do.
2) the meat they collect is partly digested and turned into a protein slurry which is used to feed their larvae. other bee species collect pollen for this purpose.

still pretty fucking metal.
the ambiguous way this is written and implies that most bees use meat unlike these weird hornets with their nector is so fucking great

It was one of those riddles only the person asking could know the answer to. Like what are the power rangers secret identities or who knows what evil lurks in the heart of man?

Will I gain the power of bees and also of the meat?
Nah you'll just solve a riddle for a jerkass king
Is this a reference to something
The biblical Samson found a lion corpse with a beehive in it. Later when he was dining with a jerkass king he made it a riddle only he could solve to get something from the king. It's been a while so that's all I recall.
That's a weird drawing to put on your can of syrup it makes me feel weird
If it makes you feel any better he lost his strength cause he cut his hair, got his eyes gouged out and became a slave, then got one last burst of strength and broke two pillars killing both himself and a court full of babylonians or whatever when the roof caved in so a happy ending really.

Philistine.
25 years of my life went by before someone pointed out what the picture on the tin was, I'd never noticed it before.
And today is when I learned why it's there. I always just assumed "Yeah sure, seems like something Victorians would put on syrup why not"
Golden syrup is kind of like a man-made honey. It's an invert sugar, like honey, so it has a lot of similar properties and uses in baking.
Thank you, very interesting
