Tabletop Freeplay Question PAX2020 - Process and Procedure

sprytortoisesprytortoise Registered User new member
Hello. If I'd like to run a TTRPG that I've developed in the Tabletop Freeplay area, what is the process for doing so? How do sign ups work? Can I do it more than once? How long do sessions usually last? Do I need to anything ahead of time? Is it first come-first served? Etc?

I'm a rookie at Pax and would like to know how it works. Thanks ahead for your help and any advice you can share.

The Freeplay area is a giant space with tables and the lending library. The tables are free-for-all. The library lets attendees check out games to play, but you don't have to check out the game to use the tables.

It might not be the best environment for your purposes, however. Squatting on a table to demo your game, unless you're an exhibitor who paid for said table, probably won't endear you to other attendees and since it is a giant open area, things get really noisy in a hurry, so trying to run an RPG in that space could be rather difficult.

Is it PAX <insert nearest future PAX here> yet?

This is great info, thanks a ton - esp about the etiquette. Do you, or does anyone, know if tables in that room are open for a vendor to pay for? I think I read about a DnD arena-type tourney, but not sure if it's in that room.

the folks at pax_sales@paxsite.com should be able to help. There's also sometimes areas for unpublished games run by various third party companies who pay for space specifically for that. I don't know the contact info for any of those, but it's possible pax sales can help you get in contact with them.
