I have a quick question that should be easy for anyone who knows anything about this topic.
We recently had all of the windows replaced in our home, end of November. Today, we noticed one of the panes in one window had a crack--about 8 inches starting at one edge and leading inward. Nothing would have hit it, and it's the inside pane. It's likely just due to expansion and cold. Maybe defective, whatever.
We texted the installer and he said he'd have someone take care of it after the holidays. We're not too concerned. I just would like to know (without continuing to pester the installer near Christmas) whether they're going to have to tear out the entire frame again or can they just replace the glass easily? And is it going to be messy?

Although a few hours seems like a lot when they did 14 entire windows in one day before.
Yeah but that was probably a dozen people working assembly line. This will be one or two people doing, hopefully, a bit of custom work to make the window fit better and deal with the expansion issues.

New windows come in the frame, designed to be mounted in succession quickly. This is going to be more of a couple craftsmen doing precision work. And they are going to do some inspection to see if they have to change anything because they aren’t going to want to come out again for the same window.
