Will any AL play be happening at South this year? I can't find any information on where or when.

I see four spots on the tabletop map for "Wizards of the Coast Organized Play". I just looked at the WOTC site and it looks like they went to a few other PAX conventions last year so I'm thinking there won't be Adventure League this year but an official WOTC setup.

They have a good group there so make sure to sign up early and stop by if you can volunteer for a day.
