I've never ordered pepperoni because I thought they were a vegetarian option with all sorts of peppers on top until I decided to google them one day
Still never eaten a pepperoni pizza before though
Apparently Buffalo-style cup-and-char is not actually universal.
I don't know why. It's so good.

I don't think you need to reroast deli slices.
That said, I like how the juices seem to separate, and the heat seems to intensify when baked.
Some of my favorite pizzas were pepperoni extra sauce and cheese, with a rising bready crust.
Local joint in KY would have the pepperoni weaved in with the cheese and sauce as opposed to just on top. It was tasty.
Phrasing of the question makes it sound like this is one or the other, but I'll basically take peppos (that's what I call slices of pepperoni) in any form that won't kill me
we have these thick slices of an amazing italian sausage at my work, I would both eat a pizza of just them, and would like eat a bowl of them all cooked up without a pizza. they sooooo good.
I'm not reeeaally a super big fan of meat I guess, because I only like it way more done than most people. Crunchy pepperoni, crispy bacon, seared chicken, steak can totally have some char on it.
I do love lots of jerky, though.
My kiddo and I fairly frequently split a frozen pizza, and while she used to like pepperoni a lot, for now it's just plain cheese, so I pick it off of her half before putting it in the oven and place them lightly along the outermost edge so they'll get crispy. The interior ones won't crisp before the dough starts to burn, usually even if you pull them up and reset them.
I spent a long time trying to understand how you get it the right way. Turns out that if you get a stick of natural-casing pepperoni, it works real nice.

Somehow they have not been tried for crimes against humanity.
Also pepperoni is fucking overrated and if you wanted some meat on your pizza you would have selected Canadian bacon like a real man.

Canadian Bacon tastes better than Pepperoni all day, every day, this is a FACT.
I like Canadian bacon on pizza well enough but I would never order a pizza with JUST Canadian bacon, like I would pepperoni.
I am monster, you see.

Just don’t put it in your butt.
Are those the smaller ones that are a little thicker and get all crispy and good?
I love those.

Yesssss.
This style, to be precise. This is how pizza has been since my infancy.
I have made this style of pepperoni for pizza by slicing lil peps. What are essentially fat slim jims
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
E: This is the recipe I use. Halved for one pizza.
You're not my supervisor

You’ll never work in Hollywood again if *I* have anything to say about it!
