Firefox download prompt?

In firefox, how do I get the download prompt to reappear? Like, the pop-up box? I changed mine to automatically download to the desktop, and just now went to change it so that it asked me again, but I need to set it so that I can make it automatically open a certain file type, and the best way I know to do that is to use the download prompt that I cannot get to reappear...

    tools | options

then go to the "main" group and the setting you're looking for should be in the middle group under "downloads"

The downloads window option there is talking about the separate pop-up screen that keeps track of what you've been downloading.

Edit: Well, I found a way to do it without getting the aforementioned window back. If anyone was curious, you can change firefox's download association's through Tools>Options>Content>File Types... File Types is at the bottom, single-line. I just missed it the first time.
