DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A REAL CONCERN, I DO NOT HAVE A BLOOD DISORDER, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH ME, NO NEED FOR "SEE A DOCTOR NOW" POSTS.

Ok, Im working on an RPG character (for UNIFIED) and I would like to have my character to have some sort of disorder/disease that causes the body to create too much blood for the body. Ive been googlin for a little, and all I can find is excess blood sugar and such. Nothing about excess blood. It is entirely possible that I will have to create a new disease for my guy and that's fine, but it would be nice to have an official sounding name for it.

I know Ive seen some of you say that you have medical knowledge, maybe someone could help me. Thanks guys!

Do you mean increased blood pressure, or an excessive amount of blood cells (leukemia)? Both diseases exist and are well documented.

Leukemia sounds right just from what you said, Ill go read wiki or somethin to learn some more. But doesnt Leukemia kill you pretty easy? Is that from having too many blood cells? Or some other complication?

I work in cancer research, but my work involves solid tumors only, and I'm ashamed to say I'm not sure what actually kills leukemia patients. I'm under the impression that the major problems are sepsis (blood poisoning) symptoms and, paradoxically, severe anemia.

Well iron makes up the haem group of haemoglobin, so, if there's lots of mutated red blood cells with iron, it may deprive normal red cells. That's just my thought

In general, the reason cancers kill people is usually due to the physical effects of the tumours, e.g. one will grow into areas of important tissue (e.g. repturing a blood vessel in the brain), or they'll occlude certain functions of organs, e.g. stomach tumours may eventually prevent you from digesting food, or lung tumours severely reduce the area of lung tissue capable of gas exchange). And yeah, in leukemia a big problem is not having enough healthy marrow left so your white blood cell counts drop, and you don't produce enough platelets etc.
