I am not sure if it is boredom or starvation, but man. :( I usually have leftovers when I do hamburger/tuna helper, but I really needed to finish it all, and I still had some other carbs besides.

I should know better, but this was my answer to going out and getting ice cream and potentially buying more Lego Mario stuff.

I’ve made it clear numerous times why I’m worried about getting infected. Of course keeping spread from getting completely out of control (as has already happened in Florida) is also something I worry about. It’s chat, of course if I’m talking about coronavirus I’m talking about it from a personal standpoint. RAWWRRRRR

Okay the strawberry + chocolate cheesecake crepes were a success

The crepe recipe was bad and most of them didn't have the structure to hold together, but the filling was so incredibly rich that we only wanted one small crepe each anyway

Gf looked like she was going to cry when she had the first bite

I will make this again but I'm frightened I might die of crepe

Lol this review of Lawnmower Man

A lot of people told me I shouldn’t watch this movie. Well, a lot people can’t properly appreciate an early 90s incredibly awkward CGI sex scene starring the pilot from LOST playing a deeply problematic character in a movie Stephen King sued to have his name removed from.

I have been watching the Expanse off and on.

    Spoiler thoughts so far:
    Good:
1.Chrisjen played by Shohreh Aghdashloo is fucking fantastic.
    2.Amos is perfect too
3.The space battles are fucking perfect it seems. Just love the flying and fighting. The movement, the shifts in gs, the small touches like pulling out most of the atmosphere before a fight so you don't vent. I love it.
4.Belter creole is fun to listen
    5.Bobby is also great.

    Bad:
    1. I hate Holden in the show. He is annoyingly sunny and caring in the books. Dumb fucking white knight 95% of the time. Never stops being hopeful. He is way to "brooding" in the show.
    2. I feel they are doing the same with the rest of the crew. It bugs me. Like Fred misses why people follow him thing.
    3. The pacing is weird considering it is season 3 and this is book 2. I feel they make things go longer.
    4. They add way too much CW drama and such
    5. Alex's actor is perfect for the role and a terrible human.

Seriously the ship design is just really good in the Expanse.

The rotating seats. The multi-level design around thrust and float. Small and big touches.

If I was trying to, I'd say I can't sleep

I'm undecided on sleep, thus far.

But I have concluded that it isn't very long until I don't have the luxury of not caring about a sleep schedule off its leash, so fuck it.

In about an hour I could go to the store and I could have a proper meal. But that would mean deciding against sleep, really, and I'm not prepared to take a stand.

My life is hard, yet interesting

I wonder if it could be related to the severity of the outbreak.

Like even during the height of our cases here I never really thought that I or my partner would get it, so any conversations around it was more abstract on how the community or country as a whole was fairing.

But when talking about South Africa I tend to focus around how my parents are doing.

John Boyne got in a fight with the Auschwitz Memorial Museum after they said people should avoid one of his books. He is also a transphobe who wrote a novel (the title of which is literally the misgendering of a character) spreading all sorts of stereotypes, and likes to sue people for pointing that out whilst complaining about cancel culture. I could totally imagine him taking the first thing he saw on google and running with it.

I don't understand this at all. You wouldn't be worried about a grandparent catching this and dying?

that's not the me I'm talking about - or the they, although that was vague. Like when people go back to work or something reopens, the danger to them, those workers specifically, seem to be talked about in and around this here thread, primarily. Instead of well, the potential spread and death toll. Like the individual focus seems a little odd to me

(also me personally, no, I buried my last grandparent in march, the day after everything closed down here. But I know that isn't your point.)

Yeah I find this odd too, because I keep talking about things this way with my friends, broader picture, statistics, keeping unmasked gatherings short and small to nudge statistics where they should be. Because that's the sort of problem we are facing: low probabilities of bad events across a ton of people.

Looking at it too personally encourages the wrong behavior and jacks up stress hugely, but that seems to be the way that most americans see it.

I think this sort of thing also applies to meat eating as well. It's very hard to moralize something that is not likely to be directly harmful as like, a moral failing, but very easy to understand "hey, cutting back on this behavior is probably a decent idea for everybody."

I don't live next to anyone I care about

    Tactical decision

(not that it should actually affect my behaviour, ethically speaking)
