Do you mean led pushbuttons like arcade buttons?

From what I can see those leds are powered at 12v and the gpio pins on the rpi can only supply 5v so you'd be looking at supplying power from somewhere else for the leds at least.

Awesome thanks that good to know and yes the led push buttons... I need to connect the input panel from the led buttons to the male end of the Molex connections that runs to the CPU...this is my first time doing this so bare with me.

Or how would you hook up led buttons to a 1980s arcade game?

I think I get what you are trying to do now. If you could post a photo of your arcade machines current wiring and buttons I might be able to help better.

And bearing in mind I'm no expert on electronics generally or arcade parts in particular...

But looking online led buttons have four terminals, two of them will go to the arcade board as if they were regular buttons. Two other terminals should be labeled as the led terminals on the bottom of the button that you connect to a separate power and ground as well and you can basically daisy chain those wires to power all your leds at once from a separate suitable power supply you can get from any electronics supplier. You could even wire in a basic toggle before the hot chain to switch the leds on or off without unplugging the supply.

Tomorrow I'll do some more googling to understand it better myself and maybe draw you a simple diagram of how I might do it?
