It doesn't let you use Bluetooth audio and wifi at the same time? That seems like a not great limitation. Or does "local wireless communication" refer to something else?
I don't know if "local wireless communication" includes the wifi connection or not, but I do know it includes the local multiplayer stuff used to communicate between two Switches
Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will be free to play for Nintendo Online members from September 22nd-28th, you can predownload it now.
This is the newest Story of Seasons, I think? It's the Harvest Moon successor made by the original Harvest Moon devs

Finally beat Samus Returns, first time getting 100% completion in a metroid I think, my end time was like 15 and a half hours so after a certain point I figured I might as well. As someone who barely remembers the original it was a solid enough game, I was terrible about using the parry the entire way through so we'll see how that works out in Dread. Definitely points deducted for not having the planet blow up at the end. Definitely took a lot longer than I expected in both the length of the game and the time it took me to play it as I got sidetracked with other things. Got just a couple of weeks to see about replaying Fusion, which should hopefully be quicker because it's a much shorter game and I've played it before.
Some interesting news out of the FCC today: https://gov.fccid.io/BKEHAC043
Nintendo has filed a patent for a new piece of game hardware, with the Product Code HAC-043. The HAC line is the Switch (HAC-001) and accessories (Ring-Fit controller is HAC-022, for example). The most HAC code just before this, HAC-042, is the SNES controller they did they put out for Nintendo Switch Online members.
These are labeled as "short-term confidential," with the confidentiality agreement ending this Friday, meaning that the full details will be revealed then. So that means Nintendo has until this Friday to show off what this is before the patents reveal everything.
There's been newer rumors of Game Boy and/or N64 additions to the Switch Online library, so folks are thinking it's controllers or grips for those, similar to the NES and SNES controllers.
They can't blow up the planet at the end of Samus Returns because it doesn't blow up at the end of Metroid 2... And it blows up at the end of Fusion.
Yeah I was gonna say if you're about to play fusion then you get to blow it up there. They were saving it.

I forgot you blow it up in fusion, I just remember the research station. It’s weird that the location of the game blowing up at the end is such a defining feature of Metroid to me and yet not a single metroidvania I’m aware of has taken that facet.

That is funny. The end of game escape sequence is a staple of Metroid as a series. You could even argue that it’s there in Metroid 2, but the lack of time limit makes it more of a return trip than an escape. And yet, I don’t think I’ve yet played a game inspired by it that has that timed escape. Destroying planets aside.
AM2R inserted a "base exploding escape sequence" in a different part of the game to keep the original Metroid 2 ending ascent intact, but it was a fun addition like all of AM2R (I love AM2R)
Depends on what they're defining as "Winter". If it's the fourth quarter of the year, that includes Dread and Mario Party Superstars.
November has Just Dance, SMTV, and Pokémon; December has the Danganrompa trilogy, Big Brain Academy, Advanced Wars, Monster Rancher; January has Pokémon Legends: Arceus, aaaand that's it for notable releases I recognize on Metacritic's "coming soon" page.
There'll probably be some reveals from third-party devs, five or so minutes dedicated to "Nindies", maybe some trailer for a big Nintendo release, and more.
Given that Smash Bros. Ultimate's season 2 Fighter Pass had text about how all six fighters would be released by "December 31, 2021", I wouldn't be surprised if this also showed a trailer for the final Smash character. Maybe they want to have it be a big release in December or something, though.

Plus it says focused "mainly".
And that's already quite a list above of Winter titles.
Throw in potential extra thing or two for beyond that point and you have a p good showing.
Well, if all of the baseless speculation on Twitter is correct, then:
-Game Boy/Color games on NSO
-N64 games in NSO
-Final Smash Bros fighter
-Reveal Smash Fighter Pack 3
-HD Zelda game ports
-Donkey Kong will come to my house and give me a kiss
I would love to see some BotW 2 but that's not coming out this winter. I can't really think of anything else I want to see but I'm sure they have something good lined up.

The latency is exactly the same as this Bluetooth dongle I bought on Amazon a couple years, so it's fine

I had assumed that local wireless multiplayer was wifi based, but I guess it might actually be bluetooth?
