Tony Hawk Pro Skater is back with a pretty awesome remake of the first two games with a lot of quality of life changes and additions from later games to further enhance these two for the PS4, XboX 1, and PC. We got multiplayer (currently limited to public only and no free skate. Private and free skate coming later), better character creation with female and male options (weirdly no sunglasses), a whole mess of challenges to do for created characters and stock characters to keep you busy, and a really fun and expansive map builder among many other things.

There is a lot to talk about from the addition to reverts to continue combos to not needing to do every single character's stuff to unlock the hidden levels. I'll post some videos giving some good breakdowns of what we got in this remake.
Some basic info:

You can access the tutorial under "Extras" on the main menu page and I highly recommend doing the tutorial to get an idea of how things roll.
These are two videos that help to show advanced tricks and combos:

Now a video from a YouTuber who has been extremely useful in completing goals for levels where I couldn't find all the items.

Keep in mind that the stat points in the levels can end up in different areas depending on who you choose to play and I believe depending on what skate style you pick for you create a character though for the skate style I'm not 100% on.
Lastly (for now) a video of a player scoring an 111mil point combo (my highest is 125k):

Question, how's the soundtrack compared to the originals?
Soundtrack seems solid. I haven't heard a lot of it yet, but I heard some old favorites as well as some new ones.
I didn't realize it was only $40. Getting tempted now.
Soundtrack is mostly same as in the originals.
The game has that fun retro-arcade feel and looks pretty.
The soundtrack is a huge part of the THPS nostalgia for me and I have been really enjoying it. They got the license for a bunch of new songs/artists and from what I have found there are only 3 songs missing from the original THPS 1+2 soundtrack.

You can also customize the playlist so you can listen to just the songs you want and you can skip songs during a run, for the PS4 you press R3 to skip the song. Not sure what it is for PC and XboX One.

I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
For some reason I thought there was a car prop but I'm not seeing one.

That guy linking 300 moves is insane. Like I stuff up on single grabs. Also their ability to move at such hard angles between rails is nuts, I find it really difficult to come off a rail at any significant angle
It depends, the player created skate parks can be used to get challenges/achievements so that can cause that achievement to inflate.
I've also been watching YouTube videos for completion stuff and competitive matches and it is insane how easily these people get 1mil+ scores. I saw one where someone had generated 4mil+ points in a single combo in about 30 or 45 seconds.

Gah finally managed it after doing a boneless. Which I find so ducking hard to do
Yea, I had a lot of trouble getting in there with the boneless. I'd either just jump straight up or not do a boneless towards the volcano.

Also I love this game? I finished all the goals in both 1 and 2. Working on the create a skater challenges. It feels so good to play. I need to get better at mixing in special and doing more tricks on verts. I can pretty easily swap through a ton of manuals, but one challenge is to do a 25 trick combo without grinding and that seems crazy

Ended up getting the 25 trick combo on my first actual attempt - starting in a half-pipe, Boneless into 3 flip tricks, revert, manual to the other side, hit another two flip tricks, revert and manual, and you're already up to 10x. Then I pretty much mashed Square while maintaining balance.

I knew I was going to mess up something in the first post/title.
I completely forgot about the downhill maps. Downhill Jam is my favorite, had a lot of fun on that one.

I kind of wish the goals reset for each skater instead of just the skill points, but the speed run mode is cool. Finish every goal in a level as fast as possible is fun and challenging.
I still gotta find all the aliens but it's been fun going for the veteran and legendary goals.
Multiplayer lobbies are pretty cool too!

Really glad they finally patched that in.
