I started watching Cougar Town, a show I had seen episodes here and there but never the entire way.

Horrible name, pretty good show! It's by the creator of Scrubs, with a lot of the cast in minor roles, and pretty same humor. It also quickly pivots from "Courtney Cox trying to bang younger dudes" into a pretty fun and absurb hang out shows. And dammit, the whole playing indy music as the show wraps up still gets me.

I do think it's weird how much the son is part of the main group and if I remember later seasons
He ends up having a baby with someone 9 years his senior, which isn't bad but ends up feeling a bit too close to grooming

They do fix the horrible name eventually.
    For literally the final episode.

Close Enough was fun, not amazing, but an enjoyable time. Josh and Emily being caring parents/partners definitely endeared them to me, and I can tally a Jason Mantzoukas performance I liked!

I do wonder if they’ll ever release the full length episodes of Close Enough. Can’t rely on a physical release anymore to get those sweet sweet special features

So how's Raised By Wolves going so far?

I watched the first episode a few weeks back and felt like it was borderline a bit of an eye-roll, but some of the larger worldbuilding stuff got me interested and I'm a sucker for the Ridley Scottness of it all.

I am enjoying the hell out of it, and eagerly await new episodes every week.

It still has the potential to get dumb as hell in true Scott fashion, but so far it's been great. Beautiful visuals and performances. The music is particularly good, or at least effective.

Full disclosure though: I am a sucker for this kind of shit. Like, "A Closed and Common Orbit" is one of my favorite books of all time; so maybe take my opinion with a grain or two of salt because this show seems practically designed for me.

Watched the first episode of the new season of archer, and it was alright. Not peak archer, but not the worst.

It did, however, remind me of the previous season's finale. Man, if they had ended it with the montage and him waking up without the tail of the episode, that's basically the perfect series finale.

Raised by Wolves has apparently been renewed for a second season, so i guess its doing pretty well?

I havent seen much talk of it, but I suspect people are waiting to fully recommend it in case it goes full Prometheus at some point. Dunno.

Pretty cool though! Hope it stays good.

    Also Scarecrow in Harley Quinn.

    (Harley Quinn spoilers)
Shame they killed him off in the first season. Guess they didn't want to many people running around knowing Batman's identity.

And soon to be mustached and dealing with ghosts in a couple weeks for Bly Manor.

    Nothing. Matters.

Watched the first season of Upload. All I'd really seen is the 10-second (or so) clip that autoplays on Fire OS, and then heard it mentioned a couple of times here. So all I really knew going in was that Robbie Amell is in it and is dead, I guess?

That is not even the weirdest thing in the show, and it's great.

It confounds me that Ridley Scott could so thoroughly misunderstand a movie that he himself directed (Blade Runner)

Maybe with all the robot android stuff contained in Raised By Wolves the alien movies will finally go back to being about the aliens.

The show is fine, it’s great visually and some of the awkward and naff stuff here is at least like on an episode by episode basis, it doesn’t spoil a whole movie so feels a little better. It seems like what he wanted to do with Prometheus and alien covenant is being explored here, and it suits a tv show format more than a movie

It's interestng because I think it works as both a light comedic background TV and a in parts frightening dystopic drama.

    finale
The ending is one of the darkest cliffhangers for a season 1 finale in a TV show I can think off right now. Just a real bummer. 1 main character on the run and off the grid, the other frozen in time with his last thought that his fiance has commited suicide.

His recently dumped fiancée that committed suicide to be with him.

Also the bunches of "show don't tell" details for the audience to pick up on.
