All the labs are closed because of summer hours and now I have to do this small Microsoft word project but all I have is Neo Office. I am not allowed to use this program because the entire class is to teach me how to use MSWord/ power point and what not. If I use Neo Office is the professor going to be able to tell?

It has to be exact and the only directions I have are for MSword. Is this possible? I have about 2 hours to turn it in but on MSword it should only take about 20 min.

You can export .doc files. As we don't know what the project is or what the professor is looking for, that's about all we can say on it.

I just have to do formating and text size. Easy stuff but will it be an exact copy as if it was done in MSword?

It's iffy. It really should be, but I've noticed some formatting issues using Neo Office, which are exactly the things you can't afford. I'm assuming you have a Mac -- have you used the free trial of Word etc. that came with your Mac? If not see if you can't get by with that.

Open Office can read 99% of all .doc files just fine.

    EDIT: And it's free.

Abiword is also compatible with Office files, in case you find yourself in need of a word processor quick-like. It's free.

    http://abiword.com/

and if you find yourself unable to install software, there is Google Documents. also free.

    http://docs.google.com

be advised that the only thing 100% compatible with MS Office is MS MS Office. replacements and alternatives are suitable for most every general function, but there is always the possibility of running into a feature or two that aren't compatible.
