However, when I'm working in Excel the keyboard gets really loud and makes it hard for my partner to concentrate. Can anyone suggest a quiet mechanical keyboard? I need a 10-key for work. Wireless and wired are both fine.
brown switches (assuming that's what yours has) are already basically as quiet as they get, and should be pretty inaudible unless you're really bangin on the thing (which also makes noise with a membrane board fwiw)
one thing you can do is put o-rings on the switches; they're little bits of plastic/silicon that fit over the switch housing and kinda deaden the feel/sound of key presses.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
cherry red sounds exactly like a non-mechanical keyboard as it doesn't have any feedback
