I SAID COME BACK.
As I was saying, this game is a 3v3 sport of dodgeball, played third-person in open areas. The basic rules are best of three rounds, with the first to 10 KOs winning a round. The game has a surprising amount a depth, as despite its easy to pick up nature, there is a lot of mindgames involved. It's a lot like a mix of third person shooter and fighting game. You can throw the ball, sure, but you can also do overhead lobs, curve shots, fake-outs, or even make like Samus and go into morph ball and let a teammate pick you up for a one-hit KO shot (or have an
opponent pick you up for an embarrassing situation). But there's also what you can do without a ball, such as a button that briefly lets you catch an incoming ball, a tackle that can knock the ball out of the opponent's hands or even charge into the ball to deflect it. There's also movement options like a glider, double jumps, air dash, and verticality to rewards smart play.
The game is $19.99 on all platforms, and included with EA Play (or Game Pass Ultimate, as it includes EA Play). The game is cross platform, and basically available everywhere. I believe there is even cross-progression across platforms.
Here are some tips
- The ball gets faster when powered up. Pass between teammates often so it is more difficult for opponents to react
- You can still pass to a teammate with a ball, returning it to you with charge.
- You don't have to double jump to throw lobs or curves. Just tap the double jump button by itself to do a small hop that enables the throw
- 9/10 times you grab an opponent in ball form it is best to just chuck them off the map. It counts as a KO and they can't do much about it
- The warning of an incoming ball is active even even a player is just charging a shot up at you, so don't panic the second you see the red border
- Falling down a pit always scores your opponents a KO, so don't think it's a cute way to deny an opponent anything
- Balls CAN collide with each other, so keep that in mind with you and an opponent are both armed and facing each other down
- When thrown as a fully-charged character shot, you influence where the explosion hits, so aim true
- You can intercept an opponent's ball while you have a ball, but it will drop your current ball. Important if you have a bomb ball or something.
- Seriously, pass the damn ball

Remembering that you can use teammates as a ball or give yourself to a teammate is super powerful if the other team is running around looking for balls themselves. Charging your teammate into the mortar is awesome on groups of enemy players.
If anyone wants to join up I'm L4ZY3YE on Xbox.
This game is VERY fun.

Though I am disappointed there's seemingly no moderation or filtering of crew names, which plays out exactly how you'd expect.
Game runs pretty well on Switch but certainly not as nice as PC or other platforms.
Sometimes you gotta carry the team to victory

However, if you are impatient, you can use the code 52T3-BMJD-3QNL-BQWB-LWK9 and get them all at once. There are also individual codes for each icon in case you don’t want to clutter your icons with stuff you will never use, but I don’t have the time to sort through those.
It seems like others can pick up a ball and launch it almost instantaneously, while I seem to have to lock on for a half second or more before I can release the trigger to throw. It seriously puts me at a disadvantage since there are so many times I've jumped over or dashed behind an enemy and want to throw, but nothing seems to happen. Then I get dashed into and lose the ball and get hit in no time. Ugh.
A common strategy is to not charge at all and just chuck it immediately if the other player is not aware of you, as the red warning border appears once you start charging with a player locked. Less time to react.
Thinking of jumping in with a small group of uh...varied gaming skill levels and am wondering how it'll fare.
Alright teammate, we're gonna roll the dice on if I'm as good as we think, and if we are wrong, you die.
It's been pretty accessible to me so far as the old dude who always gets stomped in online MP games. I have definitely run into a few groups that had much better coordination and seemed to catch almost every damn ball thrown at them but for the most part it feels fair.
Can't comment yet on how deep it is but it seems to me it rewards thoughtful play.
So I tried just getting an enemy player kinda centered in my screen and just let it rip, it seems pretty effective. Thanks!
One of my fave moves is ending up behind an enemy and getting the ball passed to me. It tends to make the opposing player attempt to catch or dodge and I can hit them in while they're recovering.
There is really nothing that infuriates me more than getting juggled at the edge of the stage. I feel like I should just jump out into space and get it over with.
While I think the game can be enjoyed at all skill levels, a significant skill gap between players could make the game less-than-fun for all involved. That said, the game is free up to level 25, which is more than enough games to find out if you'll like it or not.
yeah, I have been getting put up in 3 solo's on a team against 3stacks and it's pretty brutal. At least it's fast to get to the next game.
Also, I got my first experience with a sandbagger, I guess? Teammate just jumped off the map immediately after spawning until each round was over. So much fun.
I regularly play games in the high 90s or low 100s. Ontario, Canada. That's just normal shitty Canadian overpriced Internet, to me. Saying 80ms is a failing here baffles me.
normally i wouldn't consider 80 *too* bad either; but for this game w/ it's detailed statistics showing my latency at a steady 80 with 0% packetloss it displays nonstop connection warnings in the top right and is very juddery
fyi there's a category in the report player area specifically for stuff like this. There's the usual offensive names etc, but there's one I believe this would fit under. Something like poor sportsmanship? I have no idea if they actually act on those types of reports but the category is there so...
That person was just there to troll and that's not really fun for anyone (except them? I guess?) so I've got no problem reporting them.
I haven't had that experience, but I also haven't played that much. Since the game basically auto-aims, maybe I'm just not noticing.
Yeah, that's been my problem with ranked this entire week. I made it to Silver 1 and have been up against nothing but 3stacks since. Haven't won a game all week. I put in a suggestion on their Discord to either fix the ranked matchmaking or just incorporate a ranked solo queue playlist.
It's mind boggling to me how a developer can make such a great PVP only game nowadays and be completely blind to the fact that not everyone is able to team up. Unless their philosophy is just "Playing solo? Do Face-off. Wanna play with a team? Too bad, go play unranked then."
That kind of overthinking could help new players.

I don't know how you do it. I'm not sure what's up, but I cannot get anything except full teams as opponents in league. Just this morning it's been 6 league matches and 6 full teams. Meanwhile I'm level 48 and I'm getting grouped up with bronzes and unrankeds that aren't even level 20.
I think I'm done with the league until they fix their matchmaking. Whatever their system is for skill ratings is broken.
Same here. Like once every ten matches I'll get the other two hanging out with me as we pinball into full charge for everyone and just stomp, then it's back to 9 games of teammates running solo at the opposing team without even a ball in their hands.
It's also hilarious to survive/evade in a 1v3 until both my teammates are respawned and I finally get knocked out only to see both of my teammates watching me from an upper level like "good job bro, almost made it!"
I'm pretty sick of rolling the dice with randos and my friends' connection issues with the game prevent us from balling out to the degree I expected.
I will if you see me online. If you're on Xbox my GT is L4ZY3YE, if you're on PC my KO City ID is shorttimin
If I buy the deluxe edition on PC, does that mean I have the full game unlocked on Switch as well? Or do I have re-buy the game on there if I want to level up past level 25?

Cross-play? Yes!
Cross-progression? Also yes!
Game license unlocks on other platforms after purchase? Hahaha no, of course not. Would you kindly pay us again for each platform you wish to play on?
(That said, I bought in on Switch and have also played on Xbox Game Pass. I'm missing some cosmetics on Xbox, but that's probably because I bought the deluxe upgrade, then the free trial ended, THEN I bought the base game.)
So, is this like Fortnite where I am fucked with currency because I play on 2 different consoles? Like, when I level up, will that currency go to both accounts or pool in the one that was used while leveling? I was wondering if that 1,500 is just on the Switch because I got the deluxe on there, but the rest of earned currency is together.

I'm not sure where I saw it, but I thought I saw one of the devs say that currency is locked to the platform, but items purchased with the currency are cross-platform. So maybe try buying something cheap on the Switch and see if you have the item on the other console? I'll see if I can dig up that post for more clarity.
