You know that thing that you like or hate, we are going to fight about it.
Star Wars! It's wars but in the stars!

Bad Batch airs on Fridays, it's good! All clones are good boys except for crosshairs he sucks.

Squadrons was good and is available for cheap

Fallen order got a free upgrade!

Rogue Squadron comes out in 2 years

High Republic phase II just started and Rising Storm is a nice trip to the fair.

the rise of skywalker is still the absolute worst and it makes me irrationally angry

Visions has a trailer!

I’m up to season six on a “watch clone wars in order instead of whatever was randomly on TV” watch

Jar Jar is actually competent! Like why couldn’t we have gotten more of this Jar Jar in the Republic era?

Also at this point leaning pretty heavily towards even at this point the Republic having bent towards fascism in all of its internal contradictions coming to a head and Palpatine basically capitalizing on it all.

He doesn't suck, he's just misunderstood.
and has a functional brain washing chip in his head.
Okay, so the flame thrower thing was pretty fucked up.
But he might still get better.

Hypothesis: it's actually a series of multiple lightsabers clipped together. Lose one, just pull the next one out of the chain.

It's a battery pack they never show it in the movies but if you run a lightsaber for ten minutes you have to plug it into the wall for four hours

Broke as fuck and the bills past due, all amounts assist and are kindly received.

... the lightsabers actually do run on battery backs in the Tales of the Jedi (way back in the timeline) Dark Horse comics.

I'd guess it's a bunch of Jedi survival gear stuck together to look like a sheath. It's got a rebreather for swimming, a tiny protocol droid for translations, maybe a container for some small nuts for when you get hungry...

Wasn’t there some EU thing with ancient lightsabers having power cable running to a battery on the back? Also I think the original concept art by Ralph McQuarrie for Star Wars has the cables on the laser swords.

Yeah, bad batch has amazing vistas and visuals. Every single one of the last few episodes has at least one shot like that where I go whoah.

Also stuff like actual crowd shots with hundreds of characters, beautifully animated water. Almost photorealistic explosions, etc.

I need to actually sit down and watch the Bad Batch. I was bummed the last season of TCW looked so good and that was all we were getting. It's cool they're making more.

I wasn't expecting much and the pilot leaned way too much into the bad batch archetypes but it's getting constantly better I think. Plot and writing isn't all that special so far, but it's enjoyable enough and the last few eps got some really nice tense heist and action sequences.

And it's really pretty. The lighting during some night scenes in this episode was also great. Again.

It's called bad batch but really it's "and this is how you establish an empire" show

Nah dude! You can't have war without politics, man! Otherwise it's just endless Gratuitous Space Battles!

The Andor show is currently running into a few problems according to some reports. Mostly that it's still a pandemic and that they're currently shooting in Europe's Delta hotspot UK.

Several cases of covid amongst the crew on site in Dorset.

The mainline Star Wars movies might be the most sex/family negative heroic fantasy in existence.

Palpatine: Had a family, had them hunted and killed.
Anakin: Nominally a good guy, love for his wife turned him into an evil child murderer. Letting love back into his heart kills him within an hour.
Padme: Having kids abruptly made her die, died of a "broken heart."
Jyn and Cassian: The moment their relationship seems to be shifting past professional respect and into personal feelings, they explode and die as hard as it's possible to explode and die.
Han: Girlfriend was captured and then later betrayed him. Given a second chance at love, he is painfully tortured and frozen the second he acknowledges his feelings. After rescue and starting a family, his son turned to the dark side and then murdered him.
Leia: Begged Han to give Ben a second chance, which killed Han. Urged Ben to turn back to the Light, which immediately made him lose a lightsaber fight and (briefly) killed him.
Luke: Heroic legend ended in disaster when he tried raising a surrogate family of kids, including his nephew. Takes on Rey as a protege (who is looking for a father figure), immediately dies.
Ben: Killed dad out of conflicted feelings for his family, killed his boss because of conflicted feelings for his love interest/rival, died immediately when fully committing to helping his love interest, basically Padme x 10.
Rey: Birth family sold her into slavery (!) to help (??) her. Fell in love with one of the worst guys in the universe, his reciprocation immediately killed him. Was the indirect cause of death for Han and Luke, nearly the DIRECT cause of death for Chewie (cut a swath through her surrogate family).

Keep in mind that both Luke and Ben committed suicide, not just died.
