The Problem:
I cannot seem to figure out how to get verified with Paypal or how to add money to my paypal account in order to pay for E-Bay auctions.
Background information:
So, I've recently decided on getting a friend a boxxed DVD set on E-Bay as their birthday gift; it's much cheaper and more available there than anywhere else I've looked. I've never really used E-Bay before, aside from dabbling around with it a few years ago, and since I'd long forgotten the login info I decided to roll up a new E-Bay and Paypall account. The old Paypal account, which I shared with my parents who've never used it, was mostly tied to their e-mail/billing info. Being newly independent, I wanted one that tapped into my finances.
So, I created the new E-Bay account entirely without incident, then moved on to making a PayPal account. I have one made now, but it's unverified, can't send any money out of it. I've attempted to verify it a number of times, but had no luck. I tried to verify my checking account, and Paypal said simply that "[Paypal] cannot directly verify this account, please try the deposit method". I attempted the deposit method, yet after over one week of waiting I've not seen any deposits and I'm not holding out any hope that they will appear anytime soon. After failing to verify my checking account, I tried to verify my savings account. Only to realize I don't have any sort of routing information for it, nor do I actually have checks to look on to find out the routing information. Finally, I tried to add my credit card (I've only got one) to my Paypal account, and apperently it's already tied into another Paypal account and you can't have a credit card tied to more than one at a time. I'd rather not sign up for any more credit cards if I can help it. However, the old Paypal login information is long lost.
I've also looked through Paypal's help info, but it hasn't helped one bit. So I've come here and hope that someone who knows more about the system can point me in the right direction.

Questions
- Is there a way to get Paypal to release a credit card, so you can use it with a new account?
- Has anyone using Bank of America had similar troubles with Paypal's online system?
- What's the best way to get routing information for a checking account?
- If I don't verify my bank account, is there anything I can do with Paypal (ie, pay directly with credit card upfront to credit the account)?
- Does anyone have experience with the Paypal credit card? Is it worth getting on its own merit aside from the fact that it may be my only way to verify my Paypal account?
