Greasefang reanimator seems pretty fun, even if it's more spicy than good. It lets you run a lot of otherwise questionable cards that work well together and has a weird mix of draw power to grind and the ability to hit for 13 damage on T3 and threaten lethal with angels T4.
people i know green black is the spicy combo but i shouldn't be allowed to do that
Oh that's nothing. I had a draft with Fall of Lord Konda, Lucky Offering (sideboard), Touch the Spirit Realm, Intercessor's Arrest, 2x Lethal Explot, 2x Twisted Embrance, March of Wretched Sorrow, and Assassin's Ink (sideboard). I also had a broad spread of enchantment and samurai cards in white with 2x Michiko's Reign of Truth. I basically rolled right over every game with that giant pile of kill spells into giant creatures. I have no idea how I got passed all those kill spells, and having enough that I didn't put Assassin's Ink main deck is silly.
Some of the Magic commentators, such as LSV, are of the opinion that removal isn't that great in this set due to all of the synergies. So, of course, the community has interpreted that to mean that removal is unplayable in this set. I'm seeing so many red burn spells get passed in draft.
I'd like to mention how much synergy my deck got when Twisted Embrace kills a threat while pumping a creature and increasing my enchantment and modified counts.
But sure, let me pick up a nonsense deck where every single creature is samurai/warrior, enchantment, or both while having so many playable kill spells I'm not running them all.
I'm not actually getting the appeal of BG this set, it doesn't have a strong mechanical identity I feel?
Recycling enchantments, mostly. Green has a bunch of ways to get them out of the trash (Season of Renewal) or pick them up (Geothermal Kami) and rewards for playing them (Generous Visitor). Black can also pick them up with ninjutsu (as can the vertical cycle of green ninjas). All of this on top of how many enchantments provide some sort of value on ETB (and/or are Sagas). And the signpost uncommon is an enchantment Eternal Witness, Gloomshrieker.
It's not so much a mechanical identity as it is rampant synergy.
Is there a way to stack effects so that I can ditch an artifact with the Samurai that loots and also target that artifact with the Samurai who lets you cast an artifact from the graveyard? If so how do I pull it off in arena?
No.
The artifact would need to go into the graveyard as part of a cost, such as Discard a card:, so that it is in the graveyard before the ability looking for an artifact to target hits the stack.
Looking at google, the samurai I saw says 'you may discard' instead, which happens on resolution of the stack. So there is no way that the artifact is in the graveyard before the other triggers are added to the stack.

I tried jumping back into draft, to try out this black green value deck people are talking about. Splashed a little blue and stumbled onto a mean combo late in a stalled game - looping Soul Transfer and Colossal Skyturtle over and over. My opponent called it quits the third time I did it.

Oooh, so you use the Soul Transfer to both hit your opponent's shit and get the Skyturtle back, then chuck the Skyturtle to get Soul Transfer back, ad infinitum? 6 mana is a bit much for the effect but that infinite repeatability is juicy.

Yeah you need the artifact/enchantment in play to make it work, and it's pretty slow if you're on the ropes, but it's a nice option to have, particularly since both cards are good on their own and you don't have to save them and hope you'll get to pull off the combo. Just use them normally and sometimes it'll come up.
Commander decks will come with a micro-booster (maybe just 2 cards? wasn't clear) with at least one guaranteed Booster Fun treatment, to be a "sampler" of collector boosters
Nope! One of the things they mentioned is that the function of these early previews is basically, this is the information they would be passing along to distributors to help them make decisions about how much product to buy (which is why the presentation is kinda fuckin boring), so they're providing information on things like the full-art lands, like the art variants on the triomes, and the art variants on the Ascendencies.

I just ran a Quick Draft. Went 2-3, but FOUR of those games were GB mirrors. Thanks, bots!

the article for the summary and card image files, since we didn't post any of them other than the ascendency
We got the Triomes and a tacit reveal of cycling in the set.
Well, you know what they say, the more you ascend(ancy), the further you fall(ancy).
The gold triome artsyles look really good.
