I almost applied for a culinarian school when I was in like 9th grade but then I remembered I was lazy and working in a kitchen is the worst job for a lazy person
Also I think the school I was looking at was one of those scam for profit fake schools

Best of luck finding an even slightly mainstream food that's so garbage I wouldn't eat at least a few of them if they were free.

I think shrimp are my only no-go

And even then I used to put down portions of the shrimp scampi at Red Lobster

But like, shrimp cocktail, or fried shrimp I don't do

My friend makes these marshmallow-like candies - they're not soft, but they have the same sort of texture and consistency. She makes them with egg white and sugar and flavours them in different ways, like vanilla or pineapple, etc.

    They are so good.

Each one is about the size of a large marshmallow, and supposedly are, like, 25 calories? I'm side-eyeing that number, but she said she ran the numbers several times.

I could eat them at the restaurant now that I'm vaxxed, or at an outside eating area if I'm feeling cautious, I just haven't looked for and gone to a place that makes them

alamo drafthouse made good fries that you could order with queso and I want themmmmm

Speaking of, gf really wants to go to California at some point and I told her that my condition for such a trip is that we must plan sufficiently ahead of time that we could get a table at the French Laundry

Then we looked at the prices and I argued that $350 a head is, in fact, a democratization of fine dining for the everyman because it isn't a club where you can only get in with a $15k yearly membership

My wife and I have actually taken to doing these at home if we can't think of anything better for dinner

Freezer oven fries (we like Ore Ida extra crispy)

Chili (turns out Amy's sucks, Wolf brand is okay, Hormel is good)
Shredded cheese or make a quick queso
    Chopped onion

It's also a good way to go nuts:

    Diced fresh button mushrooms?
    Bell pepper?
    A fried egg?

My favorite place that made manchego cheese fries went out of business so I had to learn how to make them at home. The only hard part is not doing it every day and expiring. I had to stop buying the ingredients.

    Meringue

Right, yeah, I should have just said that, haha.

Oddly, I've never liked meringue on lemon meringue pie. When I was a kid I would eat the meringue off it to get it out of the way, and then replace it with whipping cream.

But these little meringue candies are amazing.

i think working with the public so much has abraded my emotional nerve endings. i get a little squicked out in super high density places (like when i went to the ren fest). but i work around thousands of people every week and they're not masked so i just don't restrict the activities i do at all anymore.
