[Critical Role] Campaign 3: First the Calamity, Now the Downfall
So for you RPG inclined, we have Illuminated Worlds which is short form and uses d6s and Daggerheart which is for longer form campaigns. Since that announcement, people have been wanting more info, how do these systems work and such. And rather than just tell us, CR decided to launch a new show...
Candela Obscura will be using the Illuminated Worlds system and will be airing on the 25th of May... *looks at calendar* Wow, that's a lot closer than I realized.
So, the first episode of the third chapter of Candela Obscura is out now. If you think you might slightly be into some horror role playing, I must recommend this episode.
The first two chapters were okay but didn't really capture my attention. But, folks, I'm watching this episode for the second time now and it's only been released on YouTube today. 4 hours of the highest tier role playing, and the production has changed and improved ever so much. I'm fully hooked on this one, holy shit.
Sam can be...difficult to predict. You think he's all funny-ha-ha jokes and then he turns around and (in character) blasts the party, leaving them all teary-eyed. And then he comes back in with a reversal.
I'm talking about the Scanlan to Taryon switch
Now as for what happened this past week...serious spoilers
No seriously, big spoilers
Seriously, last chance.
Fresh Cut Grass died via kamikaze attack. They were up against a boss that had almost TPKd them in an earlier encounter and was threatening to do so again. Sam had FCG detonate his power core and took the boss down.

like seriously, these are spoiler talks here
He also successfully gamed his way to be able to revivify Chetney earlier in the fight. Without that they might not make it as far as getting to the final blast.
Really wishing I'd watched EXU now, but whatever, time for that later. I'm curious if this was planned for this point or if it's a way for Matt to buy some time for Sam to run up a new character (or, realistically, for Liam to make a new character for Sam) and keep him from being left out of the story for too long.
I remember catching some EXU and enjoying it. Didn't catch the 2nd part, so I'm a little behind on the group narrative, but whatever. My guess is that this is a way to setup the narrative or Dorian to re-join the group for a bit. Maybe filling in for Sam's spot for some period of time while he's off-screen.
I’m assuming it’s about Sam being in the live show (or not!) but considering the setting of where the group is right now, I’m really curious how they would work to introduce a new character into the group.
My heart says Sam playing Bolo, maybe another robot. My head says Reigel will pick something unexpected.

I got super busy and have gotten extremely far behind on Critical Role, but there’s no way I could miss bringing up the new mini-series where Brennan Lee Mulligan runs a game set on an advanced sky city in the Age of Arcanum (it's weird that this happened twice, right?).

*Walks out of the thread with the biggest grin this side of the Mississippi*
But in 87 episodes I *still* have no fucking clue what Talesin is doing whenever he rages. None.
But I’m still watching a live show in person
I wish I could be there. Episode 97 left them in such a position, I feel like the show could be amazing.
Waiting for the video upload feels like it will be long.
1) Brennan yelled at a plane
2) The crowd sang along to the theme
3) Aabria was in the VIP seats
4)
Go ahead. Click on it. It'll be fiiiinnne.

Wishing the best of luck to Sam going forward.

From what I've heard, the twist this time is that the party is made up of
