Individual with a medical disability seeking resources for employment and relocating.

Well as some probably already know. I've been without work for awhile because my last employer dicked me over on insurance. I've been looking for work for awhile and I'm not helped by the fact that I have central auditory processing disorder, which makes certain jobs a no go because of my hearing disability. Throw in my ankylosing spondylitis, which has been untreated for over a year and that also limits me job options. Issues with the AS got bad enough that I developed a cataract in my left eye.

I was just thinking I would get thing into order this fall. Got the cataract out, but then Virginia medicaid decided to screw me over. The eye and other stuff can't get better until the ankylosing spondylitis is treated, but I can't get a treatment because no one seems to carry the biosimilar to remicade, which is what they want me to take.

I've concluded that some of my issue is that I'm in a state that is dysfunctional because it's been run for so long by people that just don't give a damn. I'm also sick and tired of being unemployed. It's not just that there are things I'd like to be able to afford, but also I can stand feeling like I'm doing nothing and having to rely on friends and family for everything; especially, with the friends also having hardship and the folks slowly getting worse because of rightwing bullshit.

So I'm asking here if anyone might know of any resources that could help someone with a disability and the goal of both finding employment and relocating.

Look into schedule A hiring authority for the federal government.

Relocation I don't know a ton about, I will be honest. Finding work with disabilities I do. There is a national program to help people with disabilities get a job. Each state runs their own program though so it varies a lot from place to place I have to imagine. Louisiana's system helped me get my masters degree and then looked for jobs afterwards so I figure most places will do alright with it.

I put the link for the Virginia site at the bottom if you want to check them out. I think comparable programs would be easy to find with a little Google. The terms that work best for me being [state] rehabilitation services.
