So I've gots to be moving in less than two months, and I'm trying to figure out just how much I can afford, rent wise.
So I've done what any self-respecting (read: loathing) computer tech does. I've made a spreadsheet.
So far I've got spots for my net income, and then expenses:
Cellular Phone
Fuel
Car Payment
Car Insurance
Personal Loan Payment
Internet
Land Phone
and that's all I could think of. So, H&A, please to be thinking of what I've missed. Everyone just throw out any suggestions on possible monthly expenses. Even if they don't apply to me, they might help someone else.

When I worked for a property management company, I was told that you were "ideally" supposed to be able to afford your rent with a weeks worth of pay, especially if you had debt you were paying off (cars, school, medical). Though it was rare that we saw prospective renters that could afford that. Even for my rent its basically 9 days of work.
All the idea's above are good ideas to allot money for as well, especially the savings/emergency fund and money for fun.
