I just got a new camera, and I discovered macrophotography. Which is taking pictures of things close up.
For example, this spider I found in the bathroom today. He was dining, and didn't seem to mind posing for the camera.
He looks huge, but really he's only about the size of my pinky nail.
Awesome.
If you do macrophotography too, lets see your stuff!

the novelty of macros of random faucets or mechanical bits like bolts or flowers or bugs wears wears off after the 2nd or 3rd shot. do something other people arent doing with their own first discovery of macro mode
same goes for eyes, which everyone does at least once :P (but the first one is neat, SS)
The eye close-up is awesome.
Also, I don't think I could ever get tired of close up pics of bugs. They're so goddamn freaky looking. I gotta think of interesting things to take pics of...
AZ a cool bug one would be like... having a "giant" spider assaulting a very tiny town either because of a camera trick or because you have some miniature toy city
Tired of making tiny things look big? Try photographing big things so they look like puny miniatures!
Also, my kitty
EDIT: Stupid image shack resized it.... I can't access my FTP hosting so, I'm boned on that one I guess.
Here's a couple crops of it anyways...

I'll be damned if there's a bigger group of assholes on campus, though.
Yeah no kidding
"Oh yeah sure, but could you stop making shit up?"
Well, at least I managed to go a full semester without learning that I was supposed to be using the drum wash.
Good to know.
This one is absolutely stunning.
What hardcore lens are you using that can get such a short depth of field at macro?
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
I think I farted, but maybe I pooped. Now I gotta go check.

especially ones that ARE THE SIZE OF MY MONITOR
I've got one of these. It's attacking a double decker bus shaped pencil sharpener. Shitty pictures though.
Too bad they are super expensive and I'm on the verge of being broke.

The Canon 60mm 2.8 Macro.
It was because I saw a line down his face in the first picture that indicated he was made of plactic and put together right there, but then in the second pic the line was gone.
Ok that was a lie.
But think of the possibilities.
