I don't think it'll work that way...Cody got it because he was one of the founders of AEW. CM Punk and Danielson weren't on the roster yet, not to mention the horde of other guys in prominent positions already. Unless it's a major name like Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn (who both resigned) there aren't really many midcard guys left who would be instant impact in AEW. But there's enough roster bloat thanks to their signings that some AEW guys could definitely get that pop.
So much for the "Ronda left the building" rumors that were flying around midshow for some reason. This being a fascinating casestudy in shitty wrestling, however, remains on the table.
I like that he kept his song that’s all about him striking out in his own and having his freedom and making his own kingdom
Gotta love how Mr. Revolution took the blood money payday
Now that the match is over I gotta say this feels like a shitty thing to say. Cody isn't under any obligation to take less money from AEW just because they're WWE's competition, especially if the company he founded was making moves to limit his involvement.
Yeah, if he had shown up at the Saudi show then fair, but he is definitely a guy looking out for his family and already proved he can walk if they treat him like shit and be fine.

Who doesn't love a match between two cocky asshole submission wrestlers?
Okay like, I don't want to rag on her if it's a tic or something (I know she has an actual issue with speaking for example) but regardless it seems like a thing that's easily corrected. She's wrestled in long tights before. The Sonya Blade gear was awesome.

In UFC I'm pretty sure its because they made her wear gear hoping for a nip slip and she didn't want it to happen.

I will judge anyone who is already rich for taking money from the company that does literal paid propaganda for a genocidal government.
Especially when they have built their entire brand around rebelling against that company.
I should add here I have absolutely no love for Rousey and I don't actually care who wins this match but if they actually book Charlotte Flair to make Rousey tap in a submission hold, a thing never accomplished in her MMA career, it will be only slightly more ridiculous than when they booked Stephanie McMahon to kick out of Rousey's armbar.
Edit: oops, never mind, they went with "just make both of them look bad" instead. Good job, guys

You’ve been gone for almost six years. Do you feel as though you’re a completely different performer than when you left?
I told Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard and Nick Khan — this very small circle of individuals — I told them what I truly believe and it’s that I’m the best wrestler in the world. And to go further with it, I actually don’t think there’s a close second. But with that said, the opportunity now exists to prove it, and that’s what I’m most excited about.

I'm glad he has that self-confidence, but holy shit he's delusional.

I don't even think he was the best wrestler in that match.

The problem is both guys in that match need to be told no at times.

It reminds me of what i said about Ronda winning the Rumble despite being totally unprepared to perform. Yes, someone has a right to get that bag, but that doesnt obviate our right to criticize them. In this case, thats part of the price, for that money. They are trading a good chunk of integrity for the money (Ronda as a performer, Cody as an insurgent). They can make that choice, and we are under no obligation to spare them that cost, even if we understand why they did it.

Could be worse. They could be doing all of this in one go again.

Oh, I see the problem now, nobody is likable.

Wait, Jesus Christ is the New Day match still happening too
Probably gonna be some shenannigans.
(unsure of where I am compared to real time. Charlotte/Ronda has only been on for like 3 minutes now for me)
In her defense she did that in her MMA fights too.

There are honestly few people in WWE right now I would trust better to do this with Austin than Owens
I know it's late and everyone is exhausted, but cut back on the caffeine, man.
