The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Today is the official opening day of the 2022 MLB season.
Remember the greedy fucking parasite owners locked out the players, so the season is starting late!
Also, multiple New York Yankees players are anti vax morons, but that's ok, because former cop asshole current mayor of New York City Eric Adams still doesn't care about public safety and changed the Covid rules!
We've got
Brewers vs Cubs
Guardians vs Royals
Pirates vs Cardinals
Mets vs Nats
Reds vs Atlanta
Astros vs Angels
Padres vs Diamondbacks
The Detroit Tigers have a promising team this year. They came on strong in the back half of the season last year and they added some good pieces in the off season. They're not going to be a dominant team, but they should be fun to watch and will hopefully be a playoff team. So that's my recommendation of team to watch.
My city only has a minor league team, the delightfully named/mascotted Flying Squirrels, but I'm at least accessibly close to the Nationals and Orioles (and moving much closer to both soon)
Mariners on pace for 162 wins in the regular season
I liked how they came back, top prospect got on base, big acquisition tied it, and then a guy they scouted and traded for a couple years back completed the comeback.
Solid starting pitching again, but these opening games are going to be tough, white sox, astros, and then the rangers. Got to show you can play.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Camden Yards is an excellent place to watch a baseball team play the Orioles

Come Overwatch with meeeee
I think an Orioles exec was reported to have basically said they can’t compete in the division no matter how much they spend right now so strip it all to the studs
My only concern is the torque he has and that forkball….dude might just literally throw his arm off his shoulder before long….but those batters weren’t even close, they looked like how I imagine I’d fare against like Charlie Nagy and his 81 mph heaterwarmer
The Brewers pitcher hit two players earlier in the game
A total of five players were hit by pitches in one game
The Cubs and Brewers hit each other a lot
Not as much as the nats pitchers hit the mets. Or the Guardians hit the royals pitching.
Today was the vengeance day for a lot of clubs that went 0-2. Mariners got thumped, so did the royals dodgers and blue jays.
Literally nobody has hit another team as much as the Brewers have hit the Cubs. The Cubs have hit the Brewers one time less. This is over the past year or so.

One of my favorite things in playing the Show is seeing all the various AA and AAA team names and judging teams that have shitty ones. Looking at you Syracuse mets!

I have a new reason to hate them besides not spending enough
I live in Pennsylvania, I'm a self hating Pirates fan, my partner is a somewhat indifferent Phillies fan
Our cheap tv package has on channel which airs baseball games and alternates seemingly at random between Phillies, Yankees and Mets games
The Pirates, Phillies, Yankees and Mets are blacked out for me on MLB.tv
There's no way I'll watch most Angels games, despite being a Shohei fan
I'm wondering which team I should try to watch on this thing
Maybe I'll go with the Blue Jays

Although several close ish teams have rebranded to the same identity as their parent franchise
Eye roll emoji goes here
Maybe they're back to their unique identity now, I should check
Iron Pigs
Cross cutters
Rail riders?
Senators
it used to be the opposite... MLB was so progressive on digital media and the NFL was in the dark ages
we also talk about other random shit and clown upon each other
Bummer about today

I think it's the most stacked division in all of sports where divisions matter
It's quite insane

….and then they mangled their left field
He was caught by an 18-year old
Holy moly

On 105 pitches, averaging just under 4 per hitter
He struck out 13 in a row
