The "point" was this cool trick where you can spend $100 Million to make a movie, then the movie makes $1 Billion, but then you say it lost money so you don't have to pay taxes on your shiny new billion.

It's from a book I've had pretty much as long as I've been knitting, called Knitting With Balls. I know, I know.
But it has good patterns that are geared toward men which is still kind of a rarity in the fiber arts world.
It's made with something called "linen stitch", which creates a flat, firm fabric. When done correctly that is.
See, you're supposed to knit it "flat"...do the first row, turn the needle, do the second row back across.
But I had the bright idea to knit it "in the round", basically like a toe-up sock. And I forgot that some stitch patterns are completely different when knit in the round versus flat, because you're working in a continuous spiral rather than back-and-forth.
And in this case, due to how the stitches are formed, I ended up with basically two stockinettepieces, one inside the other, connected only at the top where I cast on and at the bottom where I bound off.
Luckily I have a decent amount of the yarn so I'll be able to do it right but I'm gonna have to find some use for what I made. It's very stretchy so it may work as a phone case or if I feel ambitious I could try and out a zipper on it to make a little bag or something.

Like say what you will for good old Jack Kirby in the writing department but what he would do without fail was turn out a comic where in a single page someone would do five incredible things each panel and the narration box would get so excited that it would explode. I want to see just a single comic film with the sort of manic energy of a random page of Mr. Miracle.

For the record I don’t know anything about her, I’ve just noticed that the three times Ive used Facebook recently that there’s been weird spam of just post after post in a row all with the exact same headline and all from various business-y sounding names about “ALLEGATIONS ABOUT HER ARE CONFIRMED”

the house style the MCU has cultivated has its upsides but it is wildly unfriendly to the kind of unfettered, totally unselfconscious imagination that Kirby's work represents.
Also, to be fair, Eternals was Kirby at the start of his long decline. He recycled a lot of his ideas from both his Fantastic Four and Fourth World runs and came up with mostly lesser copies, although the Celestials are magnificent.
