I'm reminded of the news story about Mortal Kombat 11 devs who developed ptsd from spending days and weeks looking at photos and footage of actual deaths, injuries, & animal slaughter to research how to realistically render the game's gore.

If you're curious about my icon; it's an update of the early Lego Castle theme's "Black Falcons" faction.

Facebook (and other social media sites) have similar problems with people who have to moderate their content. It's all the stuff above, plus sexual exploitation stuff.

I assume anybody working for Jason Kingsley gets to enjoy Wear Your Armor to Work Fridays, so that should at least be a fun perk.

What's funny is in that whole article about him doing medieval knight stuff, they don't even bother to mention that he is an actual knight.

I can let them off for not mentioning his excellent youtube channel, though, as it didn't really exist (or barely did) at the time of the article. Lots of fun stuff on there, delivered with enthusiasm and humor.

Oh YT was pushing his content, probably because there's a Venn diagram of Tom Scott and Crash Course History and Modern History TV is in the middle of it.

I might get back into Sniper Elite with this title, but I'm turning that noise off. My guy is a marksman behind enemy lines, and he has a job to do. Breaking sticks. I don't need to see inside the broken sticks.

    Nothing personal. It's just business.

Rockstar did this with hangings. They also assembled the largest private library of equine veterinary texts in the world. Did the horse ball retraction physics really add a million dollars to sales?

Thing is with a lot of this hyper researched realism, when it comes to violence the end result is usually seen as *less* realistic, because most people's expectations of violence come from Hollywood, not a thousand hours of Al Qaida execution videos.

I mean like I don't really want to know how a man dies, I prefer a hollywood, some blood splats maybe a death rattle, then I'm good. I don't need to see him slowly have the light go out while he screams for his mother in a language I don't understand

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

What, no, I mean, oh! Right. They did it for the sales. Totally for the sales.
