That announcement plus the current sale got me to cave on the 2nd season pass. I have so many other games I could play, but the new shit is too damn interesting.

I kind of want to start over as a heavy weapons specialist in Rogue Trader since the game won't let you do full respecs.
I love having a high speech skill as officer but feel like I'm never getting to fire my damn gun and cowering in the rear too much.
Not bugs per se, but crashes and fucked saves are always a risk with game manipulation like that. It's also possible to use it to create some nonsense situations that aren't bugged per se. There's also a save game editor that I've used for respecs (it has a Linux version that works much better on the Deck than toybox), and it'll go so far as letting me take away Pasqal's tech priest origin (which completely ruins him) or giving Argenta the Astartes origin (which completely ruins everyone BUT her).

Looked up what they've worked on and it seems like they've done a lot of work on Neverwinter Nights modules. Anyone familiar with the quality of those?
They were pretty well received, not quite reaching the heights of the best reviewed official expansion content like hordes of the underdark or mask of the betrayer, but among the best third party content.
They also had an IOS game, the Shadow Sun, that was pretty well received.
I really liked Darkness Over Daggerford. I agree that it's the best content outside of the two expansions. I tried Tyrants of the Moon Sea but it was so hard I couldn't finish the 2nd fight with several different builds.
Tyrants of the Moon sea is weird because it is the sequel to 2 series that are otherwise unconnected. As well as Darkness over Daggerford, Siege of shadowdale and crimson crown of tethyr (which were themselves a series by an Ossian employee before working there) tie into it even though those weren’t Ossian.
Tyrants is meant to be done either after those two modules OR darkness, you should be 15+, if you were having trouble that may be it.
Darkness generally got the best reviews of all their stuff IIRC.
Arch-Militant can actually be a fairly insane tank with those gloves that let you parry with guns
Oh absolutely. Reddit pointed those out to me aswell.
I'm just not sure if I'm going to enjoy it once I finally have it all online good and proper. Its really damn annoying that Owlcat made it so you basically have to have like six different license permit talents if you want to try out multiple types of heavy weapons and then you don't even get to see them in action until later in the game. All you should is the heavy weapon proficiency itself.
Arch militant definitely sounds like the funnest class but it always seems like it ends with you favoring one type (either melee or gun) rather than both which is what I think I would want from it.

It would work well for my Ciaphas Cain playthrough. LasPistol and Chainsword would make versatility ping like crazy.
The only problem is that Ciaphas should have a crazy high fellowship and plenty of abilities that ping off it. Basically I think officer would work well for the base class. But you can't go officer to Arch-Militant.
At best you go officer to Vanguard...

Pistol+Sword also just isn't really that well supported by the game
Switching between single shot and burst fire also works for versatility, and then there's also kick
You're better off either just using a better gun, or going all in on melee
I like the flamer pistol/melee option. You get 4 options one load out. Dont need the parry gloves because you have a melee weapon. Can go for the extra attack option talent instead. Secondary is a sniper for when you can't dash/run and gun at them but still want them dead. So so dead.

I really wish I knew enough about Xeno weapons in 40K to make a decision about whether I would want to use them/choose the proficiency talents myself.
Do you fight enemies that use them before you can actually get any yourself? That would probably help.

Yeah, you get to fight a few xeno enemies before you get into the xeno weapon options. My iconoclast used them, and they were fun, but they didn't really perform any better or worse than human weapons. Allot of the xeno weapons you can get in Act 3 do some fun things, but mostly interact with status effects. If you're unsure about them, give the talents to a party member and let them use them before you decide to pick them up on your MC.
Second set of new archetypes. These all sound incredibly cool.
The Kinetic Sharpshooter sounds like an interesting concept (although I do think Kineticists are just cool in general, so I'm biased), but they also kind of sound like just regular archers with more elemental stuff going on. So not as cool as the other Kineticist kits.

I got it!
Criminal iconoclast that specializes in drukhari/cenobite weapons.
Not sure what archetypes I'm going to pick yet but I think Drukhari specialize in poison weapons, right?
So theres a couple of directions I could go with that. Dual wielding and stacking status with poison and bleeding weapons could be really fun.
Basically go full rogue with maybe Assassin. Not sure what the starter archetype would be since I don't want to overlap too much with Abelard but at the same time, I don't want operatives in my party with the companions I have planned. Don't want to completely rule out Xeno heavy weapons just yet either.

That was basically my first run. If you date
Jae
you can get a pretty good drukhari sword early. I went Warrior/Assassin and enjoyed dancing around hitting weak points.

Did you go heavy armor or dodge/agility/medium?
I was a dodge tank for sure.

Apparently they're adding more devil content to wotr alongside the dlc. I guess devil had no real quests or something? Not terribly surprising given how sparse gold dragon was, but more stuff is always nice.

Well $31 was the right price for me to pick up RT, so I did. Not 100% sure what I'm going to play yet but there is a good chance it will be a sniper-type in some fashion. I could also see psyker.
Whatever the case, it's guaranteed to be an asshole. This is 40K after all.

You can actually play as a humanitarian if you go with the iconoclast conviction.

If Toybox is working it will let you do full respecs. Pretty much all I use it for
Since Owlcat doesn't offer it by default, I worry there is a technical reason.
Looks like Ossian Studios are about to put out a Kickstarter for a Pathfinder 2E CRPG.

On one hand, I want it to be a full on melee tank but I'm going iconoclast and well..
Originally planned on arch militant shotgun/heavy weapon tank but I'm not 100% feeling it to be honest despite loving really oversized guns.
I guess just say fuck it and go pure psyker with Cassia and Idira also in my party creating a nonstop Daemon pizza party every fight?

Kinetic Sharpshooter makes me wonder if the weapon properties will add to the kinetic blast. And if there are any high crit ranged weapons.

I was a dodge tank for sure.
Sigh. Alright, I'll romance her anyway.
WOTR really is a special kind of crazy.

Shockingly so. Its really cathartic in 40k.
I was referring to narrative content, not gameplay stuff. Gold dragon is basically one very long and boring fetch quest.
Gold Dragon also gets a unique little side-quest about redeeming a corrupted Black Dragon.
Devil doesn't even get that much. Just a bunch of council meetings about how you're going to fit in in the hierarchy of Cheliax.
