ITT 'i already have a boyfriend'

So I met this girl on thursday nite, and was hitting on her a lot. I ask her for her number and clearly insinuate it's to ask her out sometime. She very happily gives it to me.

I phone her three days later and ask her out. She says "Oh, i'd love to, but I'm sort of busy on that day, what with my boyfriends of nine months birthday and all."

Pretty darn awkward for me. Anything like this happen to any of you studs?
