Good day everyone. I tried looking for some Anime type threads in DnD but I'm still at work on a Friday and my brain is mush.

Can any of you help my friend figure out the anime he remembers, or was it just a fever dream?

Was it a more modern anime style or one from decades past? Do you remember if it was letterbox or widescreen?

That's clearly hand drawn in the mid to late 80s style, but I can't place the production. The animation is too fluid and detailed to be normal broadcast production. It looks to me like one of those animation demos studios (or fans) would make for conventions.
