Everyone in attendance at the show should sue Flair

That's why you never trust a retiring wrestler.

It's worth it for that picture of Flair.

Watchinf Dark with Shida vs Sakura and Schiavonne even mentions that Sakura has trained a bunch of wrestlers.

Mark Henry is bad at commentary, but I love his reactions to moves.

A few of those falls look tough, but that last one where he gets caught into an Oklahoma Stampede… ugh, that was a bit too much danger for me.

I wonder if they'll find he's the one bad guy and solely responsible for all the evil in the company and thank god we got him.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.

With this company I'm not sure that's true but still long overdue regardless.

That's what I thought would happen before Vince left, I assumed they'd fire Johnny Ace and Vince would stay. But then Vince left AND Ace got fired, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

SRS says there is interest in bringing back Dexter Lumis and Shawn has been in contact with Gargano

If I had to hazard a guess he and Candace are just enjoying spending time with their kid and are in no real rush to sign anywhere.

They seem to be doing meet and greets so they're able to get paid and not bump while away, and its just going to make everybody happier for their return, especially Gargano who was on NXT way too much for the last couple years.

These video packages hyping up the United States championship and Harley Race, and Ciampa mentioning being trained by Race tonight, also seem to reflect Trip's love of southern wrestling.

So there's been a running bit tonight where people are cutting promos and doing interviews in the parking lot, and in the background of the shot there's this ongoing story about a car crash? People were speculating it was Sasha & Naomi sabotaging the tag tournament, but I feel like it'd be probably in bad taste to do a car crash angle with Naomi.

I assume it's a storyline, because I assume if there was an actual car crash that nobody would let them film it on live TV

The Miz is Daniel Bryan with charisma.

    Two Time Grand Slam Champion.

No one else in the business can say that.

He did for a time and he apparently fucking hated it because the producers kept trying to create fake conflicts and oh my God the irony...

Actually it doesn't really surprise me. Reality TV producers make a living getting recovering alcoholics drunk enough to pick fights with their wedding guests, they'll already have a skull full of child blood waiting for them at Satan's kegger when they die.

You know what though, one of my favorite NXT storylines was Marcus Louis showing up in the background of shots hiding in the rafters and such like he was the Phantom of the Opera.

Of course there's also the assumption that this is all based on Dexter Lumis showing up at the end of RAW and I go right back to being bored.

I got bored and threw on Wrestlemania 7

Retirement match between Warrior and Macho
Blindfold match between Roberts and The Model
Hogan Vs Sgt Slaughter the winner gets AMERICA
First win of the streak for The Undertaker

And you’ve got Alex Trebek and Regis Philbin doing interviews

    So bad it’s good.

Ok this is actually a pretty good segue into something that I've been seeing, but boy howdy it does not look like AEW is going to get the huge rights increase that they thought they would be from WarnerMedia. The company is slashing things to the bone, essentially cancelling any scripted shows they still have on TBS and TNT while restrategizing their spending with things like HBOMax. AEW was essentially betting on itself that it could land a huge increase in rights to help pay for all the signings they've made, but if it doesn't materialize it will be interesting to see how much Shad Khan is willing to bankroll the whole thing.

I've been assuming they want to add live sports to HBOmax and that will get them more money on the rights fees that way.

HBOMax just saw a ton of layoffs at the executive level on top of a ton of cancelled shows and programs. Plus live sports is expensive, and I can't see the current WarnerMedia executive team being willing to make the kind of significant investment to bring in live sports of some kind.
