It will be a while before I can afford WHIII, would anyone be willing to check something out for me?
Start an IE Nakai campaign and add up all the Dinosaur Upkeep reductions and Oldblood General could get from skills, techs, buildings, and a Prize Hunter follower combined. Also, whether Nakai really does not suffer from supply lines upkeep increases.
In WH2 an Oldblood in Nakai's faction could make some fantastically cheap Dino stacks. Feels like they might be even better at it in WH3.
Does anyone know if they finally retuned the settlement battle grind?
Nope, not yet. Its something they said would not make it into this release. They did, however, retune auto-resolve, so you should be able to just auto-past a good number of them without taking significant losses.
Seems they've hit a few bumps already. For example, Tomb Kings and FLC lords not registering. Annoying, but will probably be resolved fairly quickly (I hope).

Dang. That's a real bummer. I guess I'll have to go find a mod.

Yeah, the no minor settlement sieges mod shouuuuld still work. I guess there's a chance CA messed with that variable for IE, but no particular reason to.

It did get fixed! Seems you may have to restart steam (possibly a few times) to get things to register. I suspect it's just a matter of waiting for everything to process on the backend.
Just cruising the reddit thread it sounds like it's just steam getting hammered launch issue stuff with the DLC -- a few people have mentioned restarting Steam fixed it, but it's probably hit or miss at the moment.
I tried playing abit as Franz before work and this might be rough. Alot of the further out elector counts are getting wiped out causing hits to IA causing income and other issues for me, which then hampers me restoring the counts.
I think I am pretty close to hitting a death spiral already.

Enjoying the game so far (well the prologue that somehow I know what happens in at the end; not sure how as I for sure didn't beat it when playing on GP) but boy can I not wait for my 6800XT to get here. The game looks good at 1440P and medium, but I definitely am looking forward to cranking things up a bit (hopefully the i5-8400 and whatever ram I have aren't bottlenecks).
Speaking of RAM, load times are way better in this than in TW2 for me, but are load times in general just something the game engine doesn't do "well" given the nature of the game. Not seeing like half a minute load times, but rather have one to three second if that is a thing.
EDIT: Kind of just realized that this game has hundreds of units on the screen at once and so expecting this thing to just run like gangbusters seems unrealistic. . .however, shouldn't the campaign run BETTER than BATTLE (it is opposite for me).
I think if you drill down to the essence of the Warhammer 3's issues on launch, it wasn't the bugs, it wasn't the half assed skill trees, the chaos campaign mechanics, etc. It simply wasn't that fun to play, especially compared to the current state of WH2*.
*It's important to note that WH2 basically had years of updates and well received DLC prior to WH3's launch, so player's expectations were very very high. Fairly or not is really in the eye of the beholder.
For sure. That's why I wanted to get, well I hate to say "real player" experience as I'm sure there's folks who aren't just grousing by nature on Reddit and Steam. . .but something more nuanced than "Just play TWW2."
Alright turn 32 in my IE Grand Cathay playthrough on VH/VH and I'm enjoying it a lot. Had a bit of a shocked when I didn't realize a gate had fallen earlyish on and was expecting hordes of chaos to come pouring through, which they kinda did, and Vilitch was there too, but they kinda stopped and skedaddled away. Now Lok'ir and Ninja rat are being a problem so pushing their way while making good with what Cathay factions there are. My bro is not being too crazy but not confederated yet.
Also it took me ~31 turns to realize there is a savage orc faction in Grand Cathay named: Dimmed Sunz.

Yeah, the factions are all on map at the beginning of the game.
Also, TK not registering sucks, Khalida was going to be my first
Same.

Rolled once and pulled Skarbrand. Ran it again out of curiosity and pulled… Skarbrand.

I actually enjoyed the RoC campaigns but would’ve liked more specific variety for each faction. But still had fun
It gave me Alberic de Bordeleaux
No! That's a bad wheel! No open tab for you!
Duuuude. You should totally take over Lustria for France!
