Ive seen the PS2 to USB converters, and was wondering if ones for regular controllers would work for dancepads that work on ps2? If so whats a decent pad to get for the ps2, or if the adapter dosent work, whats a decent pad to get for the PC?
been trying to get into ddr, and since im building my home theater pc, nows the best time to look into a decent dance pad.
Im not looking for really expensive, I would love a hard pad, but those seem to be out of the question cost wise
bang for the buck is a must here too, I dont know how much use ill get out of this
80$ is a freaking lot for a pad......... I dont think i can scrape that atm when i know i wont use it that much
Honestly then it doesn't matter what pad you are getting, Ignition is pretty much the entry pad. The lesser are pretty much all the same if you take care of them.
No, some PS2 controller adapters have shitty drivers that don't work with DDR pads. They use axes for the dpad so it is impossible to hit left and right or up and down simultaneously. Others count them all as separate buttons, so it works just fine. Just make sure whatever adapter you get is known to work with ddr pads/step mania.

Also, if you're going to be playing at high levels, anything but an Ignition is pretty much worthless unless you do some reinforcing(like duct taping it to a wooden platform/tiled floor or something).
