Cocktails, Spirits, Mixers, and Garnishes: A Bar and Alcohol thread

I fancy myself a decent amateur mixologist, wondering if anyone else here has the hobby or would appreciate a place to discuss ingredients, recipes, or technique.

So talk about drinks you've tried, spirits you like, bars you visit, etc etc.

I'll start off, tonight is making some Manhattans and variations on the same.

First drink was the classic spec:
2 oz. Bourbon
1 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish with a Maraschino cherry

The second was a so-called: Improved Manhannaten
2 ounces bourbon
1 ounce sweet vermouth
1 barspoon Galliano
1 dash absinthe
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters
...And I just realized I forgot the Orange bitters. fuk

Not just for cocktails either. Talk about straight spirits, neat or on the rocks. Or soda mixers. If it's got alcohol in it or even if it doesn't, I'm sure there's some tasty zero alcohol cocktails one can enjoy.

So what's the form of your preferred libation? Whiskey? Gin? Rum? Vodka? Tequila? Something else?
