Ahsoka Tano is the main character of [Star Wars]

Disney is going to milk the Skywalker name forever. I hear Han Solo's pants and a young Anakin Skywalker are going to be featured in the next miniseries that's set in a magical space laundry.

Thankfully writers are finally getting to branch out from that and we're set to get a series about the best force user.

Talk about your space magic here. There are other characters but since they aren't Ahsoka IDGAF.

Well hopefully they will see how people are responding to Andor and do more mature, well written series instead of doing stuff that is more like Book of Boba Fett. I hope Ahsoka keeps making the universe bigger and maybe a little fan services. I would love a live action shot of Hera, Chopper, Ezra, Sabine, Zeb, Rex, Kallus and maybe a force ghost Kanan.

    I never liked the OT

Then The Old Republic came out and I got a taste of the good stuff

I want space wizards fighting space warlocks with the occasional True Detective and Fargo stories.

I would like an old republic set story, Jedi warrior monks vs ..whatever or perhaps something like Zatoichi.

Pretty much anything that isn't the very, very dumb Jedi and Sith orders.

Show me an anti hero dark side user who uses their killing powers for good. A light side user who prioritizes bureaucracy over life. That shit is fucking brilliant the few times it gets to shine.

i gotta say, as someone who has been pretty 'eh' about all Star Wars products since the moment Disney got their hands on it

damn if Andor just isn't so good.

First page of a new thread seems like a nice place to plug this. For everyone enjoying the hell out of Andor right now, you might also enjoy A More Civilized Age's commentary podcast episodes. They've put their watch-through of Clone Wars on hiatus while Andor runs and it's a great listen: https://amorecivilizedage.net/43-kassa-that-would-be-me-reckoning-andor-01-03

I just finished Tales of the Jedi. I really enjoyed it, though I wish there had been more or longer episodes. It was nice to get better insight on Dooku's Fall. Prequel Jedi are coded as law enforcement; it follows that Dooku's effectively a burned out cop. Those episodes manage to examine the Prequel Jedi's flaws without absolving Dooku's actions—it's pretty clear his whole "I'm the only one who sees the truth" thing is the product of arrogance. I keep coming back to his death scene in the ROTS novelization, when he realizes Palpatine used him, that all is lofty ideals amounted to nothing but pushing Anakin that much closer to the Dark.

Speaking of Anakin, the Dooku episodes create a neat wrinkle. As much as Dooku hates him, Anakin at his best is everything Dooku wanted the Jedi to be. He's dynamic, not beholden to tradition for tradition's sake, and cares infinitely more about helping people than following protocol. Though I think Dooku hates Anakin less for the man himself and more as a symbol of all the unworthy things Qui-Gon died for.

The Ahsoka stuff was neat, but I'd have preferred seeing her abandon multiple identities/hiding places until she can't ignore the injustice anymore. What we got is almost identical to Cal in Fallen Order, and they could've done something else here. Did we really need a whole epsiode to learn why Ashoka survived Order 66? That said, I did like seeing non-Jedi/Sith Force traditions in the first epsiode, since the village chief Gantika was 100% Force-sensitive.

If they do another season, I'd like to see Old/High Republic-era stuff and maybe even future post-ST stories.

    Screen Culture is a plague.

Making "fan" trailers without putting it in the title or something should be a bannable offense. If there's a trailer for some popular property and I go to look for it on Youtube, at least three of every four results is fake trailers posing as real ones.

Agreed. There is absolutely nothing wrong with fan trailers. I consider it to be a form of art, actually! But they're clickbaiting people into thinking they're official releases, which is dishonest.

I'll be honest, I thought that last scene between them was going to end with Deedra ordering him to show up at her quarters for something she calls sex but is decried as an act of the darkest evils by all plants or beasts capable of reason, plus some of the more highly-developed rocks.

    The Acolyte has started production

    c2smaiu7m8eo.jpeg

The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

The High Republic saw the Jedi Order at its prime, centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. You can learn more about this era at StarWars.com’s official hub for all things High Republic.

From creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), The Acolyte has begun production in the U.K. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. Headland will also direct the series pilot.

In addition to announcing intent to create an ongoing Indiana Jones series on D+ that absolutely no one asked for, Disney confirmed today they are working on a Star Wars feature film with Stranger Things director Shawn Levy.

This makes the seventh announced Star Wars feature from Disney in the last 5 years that has not actually started any phase of production.

    Yeah
The whole sequence up to there was real great. Feeling really positive.

Then that just brought it all crashing down. Felt real bummed after that.

Also Stellan Skarsgard just acting the shit out of that scene.

Fucking hell I love this show.

    I wonder (episode 10)
How many of the prisoners actually escaped and weren't killed or rounded up by stormtroopers after fleeing the prison. At the end we just see Andor and Melshi, the two people that we know make it to Rogue One. Kinda throws water on the high of escaping if all of those guys died or were just unceremoniously shuffled into a different prison.

Also that was why they got Skarsgård and Serkis for those roles. Brilliant.

I cannot fathom the concept of not being able to swim. I've seen it with my own eyes at one point and I still don't get it. So I looked up the stats and apparently over half of humanity is unable to swim. I desperately wish Kino had taken lessons.

Not being able to swim makes his decision to help start the riot even more heroic. He knew he was not going to make it, but this way he could safe some people.

It lends context to why he was so recalcitrant m at first, even after learning he won't get out. He knew in the current setup that he would have no way out, and its not until he's faced with his men that he decides its worth getting then out at least.
