the various forms of artificial insemination, other fertility treatments, in vitro fertilization, etc etc - but also ultimately adoption

(what I meant was - without making it clear - was that I wasn't going to go all "reproduction isn't a human right", since we do stretch ourselves quite far to help those that are unable for various reasons

but just if none of the other options work and they don't like adoption - then it could be acceptable that just not having a child, or accepting adoption, are their only options.

my point was just, considering the downsides, I can accept surrogacy not being an option.

I thought i had heard that if you just want a healthy young baby and not to foster a child that will be extra hard to raise due to what's happened so far, it's very difficult to get that. I thought you basically can't have the same experience as you can via pregnancy or surrogacy.

That map appears to be talking only about traditional surrogacy (the surrogate is both the biological mother and egg donor) or the map isn't accurate as gestational surrogacy is legal in North Dakota.
This seems almost weirder to me, to split hairs over where the egg came from. Actually carrying the baby to term is the part that's onerous, potentially exploitative, and seriously destructive to the body. I mean egg donation is apparently not a fun afternoon but I wouldn't exactly compare the two.

I think it's to prevent the legal quagmire that happens if the surrogate decides to assert their parental rights.

And it's not really banned in the sense that it's illegal from what I can tell, it's that pre-birth parentage orders are unenforceable in the case of traditional surrogacy.

So like a couple could still go with a traditional surrogacy pregnancy but if the surrogate decides that no, sorry, they're actually going to be one of the parents then the couple is probably shit out of luck from a legal standpoint.

Honestly it's a super complicated topic both legally and morally and one I'm pretty ok with (hopefully) never having to deal with.

If you're flexible on race it can be easier, but yeah, a little baby, without major known medical issues is pretty hard to come by when adopting, and they're always the first to get adopted. But given time it's not impossible.

At least one of those whole cooked rotisserie chickens might make sense, since airlines don't serve food anymore and people gotta eat

But who thinks bringing a raw chicken onto an airplane is a good idea, let alone one in which you've tried to conceal an illegal weapon?

edit: apologies for the annoying "product not yet rated" voice - couldn't for the life of me find a trailer without it, even though I know it's out there because I sure watched this trailer before without it. Maybe you don't care, but for me I had a visceral reaction to it. I have heard him say four words and yet I dislike this man, deep in my bones.

nevermind found the actual trailer I was looking for. So much better.

I personally find Blasphemous annoyingly difficult that borders on repetitive because of how often you die.

So it's absolutely basically a soulslike.

Maybe I'll start it over again tonight. It's possibly I'll make some more progress this time beyond "almost none."

I've been playing Wolfenstein II; The New Colossus

Even on easy it's an intense experience although most of the more difficult stuff happens in cutscenes

I also find myself getting lost a lot and the maps don't help as much as I'd like

I'm not used to playing this kind of closed-world shooter with set-piece levels

Still, it's immensely satisfying to crunch Nazis with a hatchet

I just wish Billy wasn't such a sad sack in literally every cutscene
