Any recommendations on a lightweight blogging software that I can integrate into my web page. All the ones I've run into so far take over your page and make you use the theme and such. Maybe I'm just not delving enough into the configuration.

Regardless, any good ones?

There's a "Web Log" thread in G&T, perhaps ask there, or read through it and see what people are using on their websites that are linked in that thread?

The problem with a lightweight blogging app. is that it will be limited in it's scope of customisation as a result of being lightweight and easy to use.

The opposite end of the scale would be something like Joomla which is more of a content management app. and thus more customisable (but also more difficult to set up and use) but really you aren't going to get total customisation unless you build it yourself.

However, with that said, if you're good with CSS and HTML, you can do a lot of configuration with even basic blogging apps like Blogger. Basically they just use anchors to insert posts into an HTML web page and they usually let you customise your templates (Blogger certainly does). As such, you can build a new template entirely from scratch in HTML and CSS and, insert the relevant anchors that you want and then copy and paste it into your template. How far you go with it is really up to you, but you certainly can build a front page and then swap content for anchors and then just upload that to Blogger to replace your existing front page.
