t1 Nova, t2 Forge, t3 DP Carnage will get you a DP worth 8 in your hand and a Carnage worth 8 on the board, at the end of T3.
t4 DP Venom on the carnage nets you a venom worth 17 and a DP in your hand worth 16, and if you have Death she now only costs 2.
If you're super lucky you DP Yondu Killmonger on t5, and you have a 0 cost Death and a 32 power DP to play on t6... total of at least 44 power to put on the board on top of your 17pt Venom, not counting whatever 5pt thing you also play on t6.

Yeah, I was already playing a deck with Beast that could give me multiple plays of Iceman/Korg/Scorpion if things went right. Thinking of rotating Korg and another card out for Yondu and Cable, see if I can get my opponent drawing from an empty deck on turn 5
About to round the corner on 50 thanks to this deck
I welcome suggestions for different cards you might think would work better or I should keep an eye out for in the store
This is pretty standard patriot. The only thing you've really changed is Shang-Chi which can be a great choice as people will not see it coming and you'll steal a lot of games.
If you want a strong, somewhat greedier alternative, Invisible Woman is an excellent choice. She protects your ongoing from Enchantress and Rogue and can also prevent a Killmonger loss if you somehow have priority at the end of the game.
The other alternative would be Patriot Surfer which is also very strong.
Yeah I tried swapping Shang for Cosmo as suggested and it worked ok but I really like having Shang in hand for when they drop a double dino or whatever on me

I am 100% for people playing some off meta shit and it's a large reason why I think it's weird that people are obsessed with not having the cards to play the optimal version.
You will lose some synergy with a Shang-Chi for sure, but you will 100% steal some 8 cube games where people will do the math "Ultron or Onslaught can't beat me here" and then boom, you've killed their Darkhawk.
Minor point here, but swapping Shang Chi/Cosmo is "off-meta", sure. I'd say subbing Debrii/Ultron out for anything is just a downgrade. It's cards like that at issue, not tech choices like the other.
I mean, I don't have any of the cards to play Patriot (even Patriot, who I'll pick up shortly now that I have Winter Patriot I guess), but I've switched to the Patriot jank for now:

Just for reaching under bar and hopefully punishing normal Patriot/Surfer for not interacting?
Blue Marvel, Patriot, and Ka-Zar hit a lot of units. Ka-Zar is questionable, but hits Ultron's Bots, Squirrels, and Misty Knight. Could swap him for Enchantress, Rogue, or Shang Chi I suppose. He gives another buff option and Mystique target, so he's not worthless.
Invisible Woman on t2 into Patriot/Mystique/Ultron or Patriot/Blue Marvel/Onslaught pulls a lot of weight and dodges Killmonger. Even avoids Cosmo (except Mystique), so you play around that as well. The only headache is Squirrel Girl and Debrii gum up Invisible Woman's lane, so there's that, but it's worth it to keep your buffs/unit spam a surprise.

This is all I'm missing and only 3 really speak to me; Brood, Goose, Maximus. The rest our sort of ok to bad. Dracula would probably be number 4 on the list of wants, but after that, they're all in the same "whatever" bucket.
21 cards is 84 Reserves. That's a long way to go. Would mean I'd need 34.650 (21*3*412.5) in credits.
Let's do some quick napkin math from guaranteed credit sources:
- 500 credits/day (50 free credits + 450 for 6 daily missions)
- 1,900 credits on the Season track left to claim
- 1,350/week from the weekly track (5,400)
7,300 from the Season track and remaining 4 weekly missions. The remaining total is 27,350, which is 55 days using the daily amount credit amount.
Of course, that doesn't include variant cards giving an extra level, any credits from the ranked track (900 from 50/80, saves ~2 days), spent tokens, or free credits via events.
2 more months to be series 3 complete is pretty long and doesn't even take into account new series 4/5 cards getting added to the pool or demoted to series 3.
Good thing I have most of the good stuff already, but yeah, this card acquisition system is definitely lacking.

Yeah I don't know who gave that tip last thread but since I started doing that it's been good progress into the 1000's. I'm up to like 1200 pretty fast enough and got some decent cards along the way. Only sucks when I see a nice variant but have no gold lol, missed out on the Max Carnage variant and that thing is soooo cool

How much time do you guys spend playing this game, though? I'd be surprised if I averaged more than an hour per day.
I never thought I would want a new phone just for a silly card game but this game absolutely devours my Pixel 6 battery, in small bursts it's fine but playing a lot just makes my phone so warm. I guess I do have the 60fps mode on but.. I don't wanna turn it off 🥺
How much time do you guys spend playing this game, though? I'd be surprised if I averaged more than an hour per day.
This morning I sunk probably 2-3 hours in because nice location and I was excited to climb with Ultron. Usually on a work day I just do a few rounds before shift and on lunch but play games on my console at home.
Hit 40, free 41, then back to 39 pretty quickly with some poor RNG on my oart and good RNG for opponents. Baero probably would work better but I got challenges. Just continuing to feel like my ability to suck is growing while my collection does. Probably will try that Sera Control deck to do something new and break bad habits. Wish I had Patriot or Shuri/Zola, but otherwise had generally solid pool 3 luck, so likely more just being a bad player and less about collection.
I feel like I don't see nearly enough people retreat, sometimes all it takes is a bad hand or one of my key cards to get discarded and I bounce so it's only a 1 cube loss before things domino into a bad situation
It can be really tough to know when to fold, tho, because sometimes I won't draw anything playable until like round 3-4 and still pull out a victory somehow so idk
Unrelated but I wish the store gave you a notification when the token shop refreshed so I wouldn't have to keep checking

I mostly just get on to do my dailies. Never missed a daily.
I'll play a bit more during work, but the nice thing about this game is that I'm not missing out on progression if all I do is my dailies. The only thing I'm learning post-dailies is boosters and I've got plenty of those.
Minor point here, but swapping Shang Chi/Cosmo is "off-meta", sure. I'd say subbing Debrii/Ultron out for anything is just a downgrade. It's cards like that at issue, not tech choices like the other.
I don't own Debrii but my Patriot deck is still cube positive at high ranks.
Going from rank 40 to 50 with that Sera list, people just don't retreat.
Also it stomps bots.
But mainly people don't retreat when I'm about to punish them, and so snap.
It's just insane.
And I'm left thinking of the opponents, 'You just what, always play Panther/Zola out and people let you take the cubes?'
Yes this is literally what happens. When I play Shuri/Zola unless the deck obviously runs Shang-Chi (Zabu lists, obvious control archetypes) I never account for it. People never have it. Nobody eats their vegetables and plays interactive cards so even on the off chance someone is running a hinky Shang-chi out of Patriot it's just literally never worth considering. It's basically cube positive to make you have it (assuming the Zola play definitely wins).
The more bizarre thing is when I snap with priority after their Wong turn and they concede after I reveal the Cosmo. What did you think was going to happen bud?

I decided a few weeks back to start stockpiling gold for a future gold priced bundle like the Sunspot one. If the gold to credit ratio is good and it includes tokens, it’s better overall value than missions. Hard to say how long I’d wait though, but with most of the good series 3 cards acquired, I can be patient.

I’m using my early season rank drop to just get xp for green cards and whatever is close to an upgrade level. I’ve still gone up 15 ranks and getting all of my housekeeping done for whenever I might be in danger of running out of cards to upgrade… though tbh very unlikely to have that happen again at my collection level with how credit capped I am with not wanting to use gold on quests

Something that's a bit of a downer regarding new cards is that, for example, it looks like they're dropping a couple of theme-appropriate cards to go along with Savage Lands this season, and that's dope because pulpy caveman and dinosaur shit is my jam, but also if I ever see those cards drop for me it could be months from now, long after the season has closed.
It just gives me less reason to celebrate the game exploring its own seasonal themes.
Well, I opened Doom so that's pretty fucking dope, I'm not sure if Ultron is better or what but I'll have fun poking around wit both of them to see what's best.

I think Ultron is generally considered better but he's a more boring to play because a lot of the time the best play is "nothing" because you might play Ultron. Sinister? Worse than Ultron. Brood? Worse than Ultron.
sometimes I just absolutely destroy someone with the hardest read on earth. So I've been using a spectrum deck recently, and so I guess my opponent saw that and said "oh on turn 4 they're gonna play some Good Shit. I'll play rogue and steal it. No one will ever know!"
and so on turn 4 the cards come down and they think they're gonna get something good. but I revealed first and my turn 4 play at that location was typhoid mary. And rogue stole that ongoing and they conceded.
I believe the correct term is that they are "100% a dick".

Galactus might just be the least fun card/deck. I think I'd rather be Leadered. At least when I beat Leader it feels like a triumphant fuck you. Galactus is more of a "fuck you for putting me through this."
The sad thing is I almost played Brood on Superflow the same turn as the Hobgoblin but not because I was expecting Hobgoblin, which would have been the most amazing accidental play ever.
Game starts, left location is Central Park (woo me)
Second location reduces all card cost by 1, I play Debrii, they play Torch (so probably a move deck)
As soon as the card flips they leave
