I've seen more doc ock play in the last day then the previous month combined; galactus decks, just countering surfer decks, just everywhere.
Both doc ock and leech feel the most unfun cards to play into, just take away your hand. Thankfully no one seems to actually snap until after they play them, but it's just a lot of retreats today

When I used to play poker for money I would often spend hours at a table and expect to fold pre-flop about 25%-35% of the time. And of the ones I would play, I would end up folding over half the time once I saw the flop.
If you care at all about ranking up, this game should feel very similar, albeit with fewer early folds and more latitude in the mid-late game to see through to the final turn. Climbing is really a matter of playing a lot of games, making the most efficient use of your time, and extracting the most cubes out of your opponents as possible, rather than your actual win percentage or the strength of your deck.

I opened the app on my phone, thinking me running it on Steam fixed the issue completely.
Nope. Green Goblin is back.
I uninstalled the app and will reinstall it tomorrow after the reset and after I look with Steam first. I’m guessing it was something in the app so I should’ve uninstalled it as was suggested.

Well I did it, 20 levels in one day with Patriot + Ultron. Went from 30-51 just now. Hope I can keep it going to get the variant at 60.
This was the game that got me there, I'm liking Doom a lot as sometimes I'll only have one or two slots open anyways and having one 5+ power Bot is better than a single 1+ power Drone
So I managed to get Patriot in the shop and then I pulled Valkyrie from a cache. First Tier 5! Now, what deck was that supposed to go in again? Cerebro? Wait, I don't have that.
1) Silence 2) Books must be returned by the last date shown 3) Do not interfere with the nature of causality

Gambit shot my Patriot but Mystique was dressed just like him funny enough
Then where are your rocks?
I guess you played Debrii last ..
I tossed Doom down not thinking I'd get a Bot because middle lane was (going to be) full, and I played him round 5 but he didn't flip til the end, round six I dropped Squirrel Girl + Debrii and he nukes my Patriot which opened a spot for the Bot
I think that's one nuance to the game that isn't explained well, the flip order between players and that it matters what order you, yourself place the cards. Like for Mystique you wanna make sure you play that right because she's so clutch but in the heat of the moment I've messed up what I wanted to do because I was hasty and didn't think about the order. Now I'm a lot more careful but it has that chess element of touching a piece and realizing immediately you've made a mistake but now the turn is happening and you have to resolve it haha, I've locked in some bad plays and immediately noticed after and just groan

Going from rank 40 to 50 with that Sera list, people just don't retreat.
Also it stomps bots.
But mainly people don't retreat when I'm about to punish them, and so snap.
It's just insane.
And I'm left thinking of the opponents, 'You just what, always play Panther/Zola out and people let you take the cubes?'
Yes this is literally what happens. When I play Shuri/Zola unless the deck obviously runs Shang-Chi (Zabu lists, obvious control archetypes) I never account for it. People never have it. Nobody eats their vegetables and plays interactive cards so even on the off chance someone is running a hinky Shang-chi out of Patriot it's just literally never worth considering. It's basically cube positive to make you have it (assuming the Zola play definitely wins).
The more bizarre thing is when I snap with priority after their Wong turn and they concede after I reveal the Cosmo. What did you think was going to happen bud?
This really just affirms what we've been saying.
Get deck. Get cubes.
Sounds like if I had bought the passes, I wouldn't have had to learn any self-preservation whatsoever.
Or work even half as hard for them.

That Sera Control deck that was posted a bit ago is actually very good at teaching you the fundamentals of the game, because it basically dances on the razor's edge of power and forces you to think about things like reveal priority and deck meta in order to actually win. And layered on top of that, it really hones in on how to assess and leverage cube odds in order to rank up, because the deck essentially revolves around slow playing and getting your opponent to snap when they shouldn't in order to win 8-cube games.
So unlike in some of the more straightforward decks, you aren't just dumping cards for power as soon as possible as often as possible, and in playing "behind" you are forced to assess whether or not you can actually win via your established control win condition. If not, then you need to retreat ASAP because, again, you are rarely going to win the game via direct power.

Which deck?
*Says guy who definitely didn't just buy Sera in the token shop*
Yeah, really finding it hard to slow play it.
Not even sure what that means.
Guy says he gets 3-4 sentinels out, and I guess that's still with Bishop T3.
And now I'm ahead on two locations going into T6 or not, and I fail my priority check that the other guy doesn't even need to think about.
But really, more annoyed that I'm rolling into 50% 100 Rankers from last season, at rank 55.
All with Surfer, and with the deck not having an answer to on reveal.
Moved back to Death/Shulk/wave.
But don't have leader, so can't make Baero proper and dirty.
So still got Moon girl instead.

I go back and forth on how good it is for learning. In a lot of ways I'd say it's bad because it would be so challenging for a new player and also I think it's probably better to have a deck with good, easy snap decisions and then work your way into the harder grey area ones.

I wouldn't swap Leader for Moon Girl I'd probably put in a better 6/5 drop, or Shang-Chi. Magneto probably beats down hard in Zabu meta, or even Taskmaster.
My beef with Moon Girl is the timing restriction on when you can play her. You can't really play her on 5 since you need to Wave or hold energy up for She-Hulk.
Shang-chi is in there instead of Aero.
Really, Moon girl is in there to attempt to get 3-4 down T6 after a T4 play.
And maybe duplicate low cost deaths T5 if everything aligns.
I guess maybe taskmaster works as a wave target, but it's another 12 at best.
I guess you can draw it later, than Moon girl though.

Yeah, I see the Moon Girl thing, but I think she's another 12 at best like Taskmaster, but you can draw Taskmaster on 5/6 and it's not dead. It's kind of higher floor lower ceiling, so it's more of a playstyle call if anything. You can get that miracle double Death double She-Hulk play, but it does require at least 3 destroys before 5 (effectively before 4 since that's your Moon Girl turn) and you to have all the cards in hand when it happens. Tasky helps ensure you have a strong double play on 6, and sometimes you'll get that Death/Tasky/She-Hulk play.

Watching this hilarious 112 power Yellowjacket combo deck right now. The fucking brilliance of it is off the charts.
Feeling like it might be worth noting that the author has 'reached infinite every season so far', so the deck may not be the greatest to climb with, as the author only needs to make 30 levels.
I'm up 25 levels since the beginning of the season, and the grind is intense now.
Not sure I'm going to make 40, and blowing out with Patriot or Surfer or Panther or whatever top tier deck is likely better for climbing.

Mysterio being really good for feeding Bishop late and breaking Leader by giving him zero power copies.
