Artoria leaf is for miyazakis fucked up version of Christian D’Or. I think they’re good but idk cos artoria leaf is kinda rare so fomo is real. Not fomo of buff, fomo of the ingredients. Help!
The spark aromatic scales mostly with dex, and the poison one scales with arcane, so I figure a perfumer run is basically just a normal dex weapon run with maybe some off arcane, and then you've got perfumes to use occasionally if you need a problem solver. So, probably wouldn't really need to farm.
In some of my more masochistic moments I’ve considered trying a Perfumer run
But then I remember it would require engaging with the crafting system on a level I’m not really enthusiastic about.
It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't as stingy with some stuff. Not suggesting they make it too easy and give loads but just a little more than they do.
One more down.... I have a love hate relationship with the game. It is beautiful. It is a throwback to the first two in so many ways. But the twitch dodge to poke was not my favorite thing. The game was still beautiful and I am glad I did it.
On my first character a weird glitch occurred where the fast-travel to the site of grace you get from killing Placidusax just unlocked itself without me ever actually entering the arena. So I could just teleport directly to the fight, and if I died I'd respawn right back in the arena. I wonder if that's replicable at all.
Wouldn't be surprised if it could be replicated at one point, but got patched since release.

Something i started thinking about a lot on this run, it’s kind of ingenious how the whole “run back” gives you a chance to gather yourself for the next attempt, rather than immediately go on tilt.
You run a short gauntlet of weak enemies maybe. You climb a ladder. You ride an elevator.
It’s a breather. You push off the bad mojo from the death, center yourself, then hop back into the fray.

Finally beat the whole thing this weekend. I continue to be astounded at just how much STUFF there is in this game. I had to set the game aside for several month stretches since launch, then I'd come back and be doing something else entirely. And for the final boss I went to find the +2 version of a charm I only had the +1 of, and discovered huge swathes of stuff I'd just never seen. The game is so danged big.

Or I fall to my death trying to get back to Placidus...again.

For me it's not the run back that's usually the worst. It's the "you died" animation/screen that locks you out of doing anything and takes like 15 seconds for no good reason.
Run backs in Elden Ring are just nice little romps though. Certain run backs suck in the greater universe heh. The run back to the Throne of Want. The runback to 5 kings. The runback to ruins sentinels if you dont know the shortcut. Lothric was an annoying one because of the elevator.

The best way to kill Rykard while underleveled is the thingfishy method:
Pick up the Lance beforehand, equip it in your right hand, put the Serpent Hunter in your left, and spam crouching L1 at his face. You'll find is does decent damage, has a low stamina cost per attack, and quickly builds up stun. If you're getting close, but falling just short you can consider upgrading the Serpent Hunter a couple times. It's not like low-end somber stones are hard to come by.
Anyone on PlayStation wanna help me kill Rykard? I'm trying to do it with a new (level 35, +5 normal weapon) smurf and I just can't close the deal.
Are you not using the Serpant-Hunter on purpose? Like to do a challenge run or something?
No, it's cause this is a smurf designed to help people through Stormveil. Weapons can't go above +5 normal or +2 somber.
It just took... too much practice. But now I have Patches' Crouch and that's the important thing. Got the Tree Sentinel outside Leyndell and now it's just a few more golden seeds to hit max flasks, the final trinket pouch and maybe the Mountaintops of the Giants for the graceful spin emote.

Messing around on NG+, went Stormveil-Raya Lucaria-MtGelmir-Plateau-City-Mountaintop in around 5-6hours just doing critical path stuff (yes i know i could have skipped Stormveil)
But then the Fire Giant wrecked me so I’m pouting and taking a break

Leyndell clear. Ulcerated Tree Spirit and Golden Glowy Axe Guy down. ...can't beat Morgott...
On my last smurf (level 41) I managed it with the shield bros from Nokron, but with only 15 Vit I'm not sure I can take Redahn...
I'll clear all the remaining overworld (and underground) golden seeds tonight and if I still haven't hit max, I guess I'll hafta' try to cheese Redahn with ranged attacks...
Update: Redahn dowwwwwn. Ran out of throwing knives and had to go melee him for his last 15% HP.
Woot! That opens up Nokstella and the final golden seed I need to max out my flask, and maybe lets me get past the capital for the fancy spin emote.
Ah crap I still need to collect my prattling pates...
Chance on

i was using flamberge/dismounter/pike on my war cry/dragon incant build
i think i might dump the dismounter for the zweihander
slowly but surely each of my builds is evolving into the crab of souls builds: big ass sword
the AR is actual dogshit tho, it's incredible, what did they do to this thing. i might still run it for poise damage and pancakes but the AR is barely better than the flamberge atm

What are guesses on whether it'll be better to be in a new game or post final boss to play the expansion when it comes out?
From DLC typically has the hardest content in the game, and is intended to be played with a strong character, but is usually available much earlier than that if you want an even bigger challenge, or to beeline for particular gear you want on subsequent playthroughs.
That's Blaidd's set (altered). The cape adds a bit of weight, and all told her equip load is like 76.0 of like 76.2. Had to lose the cape to make it fit, but now it just looks right to me.

you what's kind of nuts? Greatsword with blood infusion.
That's unexpected. I would have thought that rapid hits are better for status accumulation. Is it that the AR is so high that it translates for a bigger buildup?

I don't think that works that way. The passive buildup scales with arcane if the weapon has arcane scaling, but AR doesn't matter. It wouldn't affect the hemorrhage amount either as that is just 10 or 15% max health depending on the enemy type.
The infusion does have a decent base hemorrhage build of 83 (120 when upgraded to +25), but I don't know if that would do you any better overall DPS than a heavy infusion depending on your build.

Crafting materials on the other hand will sit in my inventory forever because what if I need them ( i almost never need them)
I still don’t know what Artoria Leaf is for, only that it’s rare enough that it tricks me into thinking I found actual loot every time
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
Can u farm them easily later on?
I guess they respawn when you enter a ng+ technically
But then I remember it would require engaging with the crafting system on a level I’m not really enthusiastic about.

Just do it on NG+ when you already have all the recipes.

How I detest that fight
That was the third playthrough I needed for the platinum. 🏆🥂🎉🎈👑💪😎
Double edit
(Post-EB)
Wondered why it was only doing a few hundred damage to each dude
Finally remembered upgrades are a thing
Luckily there was still one Somber Ancient Dragon Stone I hadn’t grabbed yet

It’s not the distance or even the time it takes really, for me it’s the platforming
Got him in the end though

It's too late to try a run tonight. Tomorrow though ^.^
My guess would be Bloodhound Knight with the cape tailored off.

not sure if its the best weapon bu it feels solid and I love its reach
