Hard drive woes

Sorry about the second thread so soon, but I'm really stuck.

Yesterday I purchased a Western digital passport external hard drive. It worked fine but now when its plugged in (tested it on two pc's) it takes ages to load and I end up getting an I/O error. The diagnostic tests fail. What can I do?

EDIT: Just magically worked for a second. But as I was copying stuff over I get an I/O error...

EDIT2: keeps kind of cutting in and out of working and not working.

EDIT 3: 4v47ub6.jpg

PS: Those games are ...uh. backups of my own. Which is perfectly legal.

EDIT 4: Formatted the drive, but still get an I/O error have way through transfers.

EDIT 5: Contacted Western Digital. They said the drive must be faulty. I guess that's it? Return it to the retailer. Urgh. This isn't my week.
