Not sure if there are any fellow Get Played listeners here, but even if not this could be of interest. Listening to the current episode (https://www.earwolf.com/episode/console-draft-nintendo-gamecube/) and around the 10 minute mark Nick Wiger brings up that next month all the episodes are going to be Zelda themed.

All the hosts are going to be playing Tears of the Kingdom so the last episode (a We Play You Play, where they encourage listeners to play the game as well and submit questions about said game) of May is going to be focused on that with other Zelda games or topics each week in the lead up. Tentatively titled The Legend of Zelda: A Pod to the Cast.

I feel like only the French and Japanese voices went hard. The others all felt in line with intensity. Could be the way the languages are spoken though.

You know I listened again and the differences aren’t so pronounced, but yeah French and Japanese were on point.

I think the English Ganondorf sounds pretty solid personally. But, the French voice actor kinda sounds like the lead singer from Dimmu Borgir doing Ganondorf, which is a real good fit.

English Ganondorf is Matt Mercer, right? He’s pretty solid at voicing villains.

I wonder if they're ever going to explain or acknowledge the translation error they made in the english script at the end.
It's something to the effect of "Ganon is completely giving up on resurrection for one final all-in attempt". When the japanese script is pretty much the exact opposite, that the asshole just refuses to give up and die already. Well... clearly he's still around and kicking.

I don't think there's been an official announcement of that, but it certainly does sound like him.

Maybe that is just talking about Ganon going all-in on a bet regarding him taking over Hyrule.

I parsed that line as meaning that he'd abandoned trying to resurrect himself immediately since, y'know, it's not panning out for him at that point, not that he'd abandonded the entire enterprise of resurrecting entirely.

I honestly took it as nonsense. Just Saturday Morning cartoon 4Kids words. I was like, sure thing lady, you say stuff while I do this boss battle.

I don’t think they can or need to speak of it again.

Gotta say that I really am not enjoying any of this BotW DLC. I just went through the first part of one where you have to complete 4 shrines with a OHKO weapon. That was not very fun. Then it opened up 4 different things and now I have to play "find the picture in game" with everything? What do I even get for doing all this?

I guess I've just been really sick the past few days so staring at the map for minutes trying to line up where the picture is showing just doesn't sound fun at all.

e: Oh and don't get me started on the Hero Sword trials. Like 40 stages, you die and you restart? No saving? Fuck off.

What you get from that is pretty badass actually (on a couple different fronts)! Not going to spoil it, of course.

Ran into a weird anomally playing a few days ago after feeling compelled to jump back in for a bit after letting a relative play:

Waaaay more than what would typically spawn around here. A bug with bugs!

Your reward is a badass boss and a badass toy to play with. But like most rewards tend to be, a reward that typically comes too late to truly appreciate it.

If tackled early the rewards you get are pretty useful, particularly the ones you get at the end of each picture finding bit.

It is exactly the sort of thing that you shouldn't have starting off in a post-release DLC intended to draw lapsed players back in.

The trials stuff is a giant pain in the ass and the reward isn't worth it.

The Ballad of Champions is pretty decent though. There isn't that much OHKO stuff and you don't actually have to use that weapon, you can use your bow instead to snipe all enemies from a distance. Much easier. It all culminates in a new dungeon and a good boss fight.

The reward for trials of the sword is absolutely worth it.
full power at all times master sword + massively increased durability for it.

Honestly the best advice for it is a: brew up some long lasting attack+++ food. Half an hour is normally enough to get you through.

Make sure to explore every room throughly, there's a lot of loot to reward you doing so. Knowing tricks like feeding rusted weapons to octorocks, stealth attack chains and similar can all make it a lot easier. The last 3rd especially has
a bunch of ancient arrows hidden throughout it, letting you lolpwn the guardians and the lynel

When you find the trials specifically un-fun, it's most definitely not worth it.

I used a guide just to help with finding all the ancient arrows. Because if you don't have them for the final floors... you are in for some fun.

And even if you do have them... oh god, the pressure to not fucking miss your shot...

Yeah I don't know if I have the patience for it. Finished up Urbosa's trials and now I have to go fight Thunderblight Ganon again but much more difficult? I'm not sure if I have it in me to fight him again.

Yes, its 100% a direct sequel. That goes back to the 2019 trailer saying "the sequel to Breath of the Wild is now in development".

    Not just that, but
The initial trailers show the Link and Zelda of BotW exploring underground and finding Ganondorf's corpse. Same character designs (although Zelda has shorter hair), same voice actor, etc. It's a direct continuation of the "Whelp, we have a great, big world to rebuild and rediscover" ending.

I would be all for at least one stable run by a weirdo like Kilton or the dye shop guy that just wants to keep all the most unusual and fucked up mounts you can find. Its understandable that your typical stable maybe doesn't want a mythical mountain lord that glows or a skeletal horse in their fine establishments, but let me deal with the shady dirtbag who does!

Filter for mini boss. This map is really awesome if you’re looking for anything.

My go to areas are the plains just before the mountians that lead to Gerudu Desert (as there are two down there among the grass), but better yet, take the path behind the Goron area and volcano and there are three Lynels along there going from right to left (bonus is that you can probably pick up some dragon parts all the while). Plus its a short trek from there to get to an area where there are another three Lynel in close proximity in the back part of the hybra region (I think it is called, the snowy area at the top left of the map).

That feels like something I should have known, but definitely didn't.

I know we're never getting instruction manuals back, but they should really start making them again as an option for the pause screen.

Tutorial menus don't feel as intuitive for whatever reason.

Little design exercise I did based on the Hylia statue shape. No deep backstory to it, I just used the names of places from the games as inspiration. Figured some of you might get a kick out of it.
