How about that Super Mario 64 Soundfont? (Music Covers)

The YouTube algorithm has been serving this amusing and profoundly silly shit up to me on a frequent basis after I came upon In Rainbow Roads (cover of In Rainbows by Radiohead using the Super Mario 64 Soundfont) among my recommendations and decided to check it out. The Internet's busiest music nerd Anthony Fantano even checked it out on his channel, so these have apparently been making the rounds. In Rainbow Roads still may be perhaps the best one of these I've sampled (biased here, of course!), but grunge works oddly well for what the individual lunatics who took the time to make these put together (the album Dirt happens to be oddly reproducible in this way). I also found the Deftones and Tool albums done with this soundfont pretty good and making use of the limited sounds about as well as could be expected! Thought I may as well try to compile all the ones in my History here (and while I was at it, might have followed a few rabbit warp holes leading to more) should anyone see a favorite album of theirs or something they might want to share with someone else and also to discuss this very important topic within our fine forum. Here we go!

This is sort of the ultimate of one of these videos:

And with that posted, the thread can now slide back off into obscurity.

I've encountered these, they're pretty cool.

Unfortunately once you watch one of them youtube will suggest that they're the only videos you want to watch for the rest of time.

My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)

YouTube does that with every kind of niche content though
