I wonder if his sacrificial CEO even knew about this before today. Musk is just going to officially endorse a presidential candidate before she starts, nbd.

The things that woman knows could probably fill a thimble with regards to what Elon is going to do.

I guess we now know what the quo was for the quid of DeSantis indemnifying Musk for his rockets.

Or he's still big mad at Trump for refusing to come back to Twitter, so this is his petty revenge. Frankly I don't know why DeSantis is bothering with anything to do with Twitter, seems like a waste of his time when Fox News is literally at his beck and call. I guess it's a safe interview space where his handlers don't have to worry about petty, bully DeSantis coming to visit. Or that this kind of venue will temper Ron's awkward look on camera.

    Shut your God damn mouth.

(Edit - also he wouldn't settle for that...Commerce or Transportation sec, probably to quash investigations into Tesla)

DeSantis has been failing spectacularly at being likeable and personable. Guess he hopes that Musk is even less so and that it makes him look better by comparison?

I am honestly having difficulty imagining a less likeable duo.

DeSantis getting both Fox News and Twitter, both popular places that Trump used to rather famously "dominate" on, is a pretty big usurpation I think.

The slogan he came out with today was "Make America Florida". He desperately wants to be Trump and is probably just going to keep trying to copy him. Trump has a toxic shitty personality too and I'll bet DeSantis is just going to try and keep hiding his lack of charisma with pure aggressive assholery.

Make America Florida is an impressively awful slogan for a national election. Do conservatives even like Florida? I wonder if he's just doing this to improve his standing at home.

Florida is a conservative darling ever since DeSantis took over and has signed any bill remotely related to culture war stuff. Right now they're cheering on the state passing a law dictating colleges receiving public funding can't teach anything that "distorts significant events" or "identity politics".

It'll almost definitely die in court but no conservative cares, he did the thing.

i wonder who he has running his campaign that came up with that lol
like Republicans can't win the presidency without Texas and "Make America Florida" is like 100% not going to fly there

Honestly, even beyond it being terrible messaging, that slogan is just akward as fuck.

    "Make America Florida"?

Doesn't so much roll off the tongue as it causes a nine car pileup.

Make America Florida is kind of funny because due to media bias the US is the Florida man of western nations.

The sky was full of stars, every star an exploding ship. One of ours.

I refuse to believe that a "serious" candidate on an American presidential election chose 'Make America Florida' as their slogan.

Sorry I've accepted some dumb shit these past **shrugs vaguely** years but no that had to be satire. It's just too dumb to be anything but a joke / performance art.

On one hand, you are right. On the other hand, Texas and Florida keep looking at what each other is doing and going "you know what, that's a great idea!"

Another baffling thing about this is that it's being perceived as a snub to Fox News.

...I used to say that DeSantis is a less lazy, more intelligent Trump, but, uh. Less lazy still applies? Maybe?

Why the crap did I ever make my original name "cloudeagle?"

I read an article the other day that was pointing out that DeSantis was dumb enough to make a tour of other conservative midwest states while still pushing this big campaign idea of Florida = best conservative state. And while the other state governors mostly played along, you could already tell some pressure points were forming.

I saw some clips of Tim Scott's running announcement, dude definitely comes off corny trying to be cool.

But then I realized the landscape of "normal" politics has been so warped by the former fascist in chief and supremely-normal-human-definitely-not-weird-at-all Florida man that by comparison Tim Scott barely registers on the scale anymore.

Great system we have, love it

It still hasn't gone fully viral and I imagine Twitter is suppressing it, but I'm expecting this guy to get the boot. His "just asking questions" post with "ELON MUSK IS A PEDOPHILE" in white block lettering got suppressed, likely because King Elon was displeased.

Musk has made many an unaware statement, but this one justifying his mass layoffs takes the cake:
Before executing mass layoffs at Twitter, the social-media giant had "a lot of people doing things that didn't seem to have a lot of value," Elon Musk claimed.

Like...this is mocking a clown territory here. There is nothing I can say that reality hasn't and more eloquently.

My gut feeling is that this is going to actually go over as well as Scott Walker's campaign

Scott Walker could have eaten a baby on stage in Madison and gotten "HAHAHA YEAH OWN THE LIBS" from Wisconsin conservatives but he was a wet fart nationally

DeSantis has a lot more media backing but he's just as uncharismatic as Walker
