Car - rear strut rubber caps

deathnote666deathnote666 Registered User regular
Got rear struts replaced. 2001 Impala. Rubber caps in the trunk aren't on tight, sliced up my hand trying.

How much water can come through those holes or don't worry about it?

The only rear struts i have ever messed with have been so tight against the body that water can't really get in. Would have to see a picture to know exactly what yours look like but my guess would be those are probably more for sound dampening than water entry prevention.

If you mean the sort of trim cover on the very top of the tower, those are generally not water tight anyway.
