I would run the HVAC just to reduce the humidity. You can run the HVAC without actually cooling the area with commercial units and they function as a sort of a dehumidifier. It’s called free cooling. GSA uses it a lot in fall and spring as a way to meet energy saving goals. But it works well on maintaining humidity levels.

Heck you can even do free cooling and run a furnace/boiler.

    Well.

The weather decided we were not going to the movies yesterday. Had tickets bought and we were on the way. But branches and powerlines were going down and sirens going off. Sky turned green and we decided to go back home to the dogs.

Will try again next week. Baaarrrbbiiieee!

there’s no actual AC in the building if I’m not mistaken.

Mornin' chat, it's a dumb one here.

Just had a user put in a ticket in response to a 'server maintenance' notification asking if they won't be able to use our application when its offline. This unfortunately isn't even in the top five of stupidest things I'm dealing with this morning.

Hope everyone else is having a better start to their Tuesday.

I am a mixed bag this morning.

On one hand, I woke up pretty refreshed. I didn't get to bed any earlier than usual, but I really do think the 2 hours or so in Horizon helped. It's not a ton of exercising, but it seems to be having a similar effect.

On the other hand, somewhere low in my back/spine is a throbbing pain, that gets sharp on my right side if I move certain ways. I think I either have a sprain/strain or some sort of disc issue.. but I do not have the slightest idea how to go about fixing it. I can't pop my back on my own anymore, it seems, and I don't want to go to my PCP for this. I don't think I need chiropracy, especially as I'm leery of most practitioners of it.

i put in the work group chat that we're doing a fantasy football draft and there's a bunch of people who don't actually watch football saying they'll take part

i don't think they realise that it's an actual draft where you need to know about football and not just a sweepstakes

You need PT, and time (unfortunately).

A (good) chiropractor would a good idea and might give you some short-term relief -- a good chiropractor is essentially a D.O. limited to osteopathic manipulation practice. Bad chiropractors are the crystal healing / homeopathy types. A good chiro should evaluate you, maybe do an adjustment, and then recommend PT to you. My dude's quote to me was "if I can't fix you in a session or two then you need PT."

Conversely, you'll never find a D.O. nowadays who actually uses their osteopathic manipulation training in a primary care context, because scheduling appointments + liability reasons means it's not a workable mode of practice anymore. So if you have something out of place, a good chiro is the only practitioner who can help you. PT are not authorized to perform manipulations.

I'm not sure how vigorous the exercise is with your doing VR but you may well need to scale it back for a bit if you've got sudden back pain and that's what you've changed in the interim.

I mean I'm pretty sure I read somewhere in one of the chat threads about the AI not knowing what to do with a team of rangers sending out bears, so I'm pretty sure there's at least one option

Everyone talks about how horny bg3 is but I am 65 hours in and I've gotten one hand holding scene, a skinny dipping scene that fades to black when they start kissing, and even a brothel where it also fades to black

I'm guessing thats from banging lae'zel early in act one which I didn't do because she's crazy

Gearing up for a big day in my BG3 play through.

Our adventurers have been offered many easy paths to completion of a specific beginning game Big Problem.

BG3 - Beginning Act Big Spoilers
We were going to just cut off the leadership of the Goblin army at the Grove doorstep, and call it a day.

But after saving Arabelle, making a sizable investment in a ground floor startup, saving a gnome, and meeting Karlach; we all determined it would be best to place further sanctions* on the Goblin war-machine.

This will ensure safer passage for the Tieflings, while also providing maximum shareholder value for the future IPO of the up-coming guild.

At the time of this announcement, evacuation orders had been given and carried out by a team to exfiltrate non-combatants from the Goblin camp.

    *
Going for the eyes of each Goblin on the road that isn't already in jail and won't come along peacefully.

(I'm mostly choosing this path to get more vendor garbage, and exp)

The original Half-Life was somewhat amazingly counter-cultural. Like...a good chunk of the game, you are literally just fighting the US military, who are portrayed as the bad guys. Like holy shit imagine making that game today.

Meh. You may not be shooting at American soldiers but 99% of all violent video games have you killing Americans. Who are you driving over in GTA5? American pedestrians. Who are you shooting in the Division? American bandits. Who is Frank West chopping up with a lawn mower in Dead Rising? American zombies.

When every fictional story is set in America, that means America is also the world's biggest punching bag.
